It's going to be glorious. I can't wait, my shiney shiney new preciousssss toy. Since E3 build I have been a logibro, reviving, healing, restocking, dying--but as soon as that stuff drops I'll be a ghost. I am already; with profile dampening at 5 I often hover beside and behind mercs and squads unseen, avoiding their inherent scanner. Throw in the even lower profile of the scout suit, with dampeners and stealth cloak...
So, scanners will be a must for all squads wanting to counteract this new tech which consequently means people are going to have to suck it up and appear on everyone's minimap often or spec into dampening. I feel sorry for all the lonewolves in pubmatches, feeding time is coming.  The scout bonuses sound great too, lower scan profile, less shimmer, further scan range...The posibilities 
Anyway, interesting times ahead! The useage of situational awareness resources on the battlefield is going to be something that people are going to have to get used to. #ewariscoming |

Doesnt matter in Dust 514: PC. FW Standing. Tanking Type. Other mods than DMG or HP.

The misconception here is that scanners will reveal all suits no matter what. But the Gallente Scout suit has already proven that misconception to be exactly what it is... a misconception at best. Imagine a fully maxed out Gallente Scout decked out in Complex Profile Dampeners on all low slots and a cloaking equipment. Suddenly, the proto scanners will be crying "nerf" just because only one suit is capable of evading them.

You sacrifice 4 slots just to avoid my scanner, and it took me less than half of what you spent to avoid me lol your suit is garbage.

I can't be picked up by scanners now. When cloak hits, it would be interesting at CCP implements it.

CCP inexperience with FPS games should make any fps vet worry. Will they take the FPS route with cloak? or the MMO route? |

Dude, it's a scout. You expect any tank at all on a scout suit? The point of the scout is to surprise you and that is it's only means of survival like any other scout. Also, I usually run a pair of Ishukone Nova Knives. Do you have any idea how powerful those knives are? Even on a Gallente scout with only one sidearm damage mode fitted, the Ishukones will one-hit-kill most assaults. Two hits if it's used against a Logi which is no problem since after the first hit most of your HP will be gone and I will only need a quick-slash to finish you off. As long as I get the jump on you first, you're dead.
The loss of armor and speed is just a tiny price to pay for the major advantages provided by a cloak. I would know since I have been a dedicated nova knifer from the very beginning. I have not invested a single SP into any other weapon other than a swarm launcher and the SMG and even those are only up to advanced level. I have Level 5 on Nova Knife Operation and Nova Knife Proficiency and I can run a proto Mini Scout on my main and proto Gal Scout on my alt. I know what I'm doing.
