Either that or you were a lucky one who never experienced the absolute LAG and huge framerate drops that make the game mode (At least for me) totally unplayable. (Back in ANONYMOUS that is)

Yes I did restart the PS3, yes we did get the best server location we could and yes most of my team also didn't seem to get it as bad as me.
No my PS3 isn't dying and it isn't old - I think I was unlucky :(

LAG? Usually never get LAG. Has nothing to do with luck either..

I Have a wicket connection and the game Port Forwarded of course. I also have my PS3 on a static IP. Super important for a good connection.

Are you using the same/similar methods to avoid LAG?

I have no idea. I have a fast internet connection and have 0 problems with any other games. And to be honest, apart from the odd bit of rubber-banding, lag isn't actually that much of a problem. When I say 'LAG' I really am referring to the sluggish frame rate. I can give you video examples of others that have recorded their gameplay if you would like to see just what I mean.
I am sure you know what I mean.
I don't have anything to record my games with otherwise I would have a stack of funny / frustrating videos to show.

Yes my PS3 is on a static I.P address. I have not checked any thing to do with port forwarding however. I should not need to. Also I fail to see how things of that nature have anything to do with single digit frame rates. I rarely get those problems in pub matches, yet I consistently got them in PC matches and so did a lot of others.

Almost level 10 for gallente easy mode

payout increases per level until level ten where it levels off at around 615lp per match.

FW isn't a serious game type ATM because it is completely unsustainable.

payout of a good pub: 200,000 isk
losses from fighting in a pub: 150,000 isk (5 suits)

profit: 50,000 isk

payout from an FW match: 400lp (assuming you fight for that faction consistently)
losses: 150,000 isk (5 suits)

profit: -150,000 isk

things I use from the LP store: fed duvolle, fed L blaster
things i could use but don't: fed scout

currently aside from the specialist weapons the LP store doesn't really help veteran players very much. it offers higher tier items to lower SP toons and can in fact really good for people just starting the game. however most people you see on the forums aren't just starting the game. we have our playstyles mapped like the back of our hands and any relevant skills to them are maxxed out or at a level that we are happy with. I don't need a complex federation armor rep because I can purchase and use complex variants with isk.

managing LP and isk becomes difficult in that in an average match (above average now but that is a different story) I only make 50k profit. lets say I build a full LP suit I've never tried, I might later to prove the point but we'll say it cost an amount(X) LP and 10k isk.

suit cost = X + 10k isk
lose 5 in a match.
losses = 5X + 50k isk

assuming that 5X < LP payout
you are left with an LP profit and and isk loss amounting to 50k

so you play a profitless pub
(this model works both ways lp in pub and isk in fw)

basically you are always losing one currency while earning another, requiring the player to juggle both currencies to stay solvent. given the relative uselessness of LP to veteran players it is easier and more profitable to simply not play FW (and thus not take it seriously as a game type).


there you have it knight's master thesis on why FW isn't serious business.
