It's possible to kill tanks with AV, there's no doubt. But a decent tanker in a well fit tank can laugh off multiple proto AV players. If they have infantry support it's virtually impossible. And the teamwork it requires means you are virtually giving the match to the enemy if they have remotely decent blueberries on their side.
Buff AV to 1.6 levels and put a heavy penalty on stacked hardeners.
Remove time in battle from ISK payout formula and provide a bonus to winning team... Watch battles become fun again.

Not if the other 5 tanks on the field were shooting your face off. and six enemy tanks is almost standard practice now.
When up against good tankers or ok tankers with a good anti-AV squad a solo AV is almost always going to die or fail at the task they are trying to achieve.
It really almost takes a full squad now to kill 2 tanks. 2-3 AV and 2-3 slayers protecting them from other slayers. And the more tanks the enemy has the harder it is to kill them.
Unless they are militia tank spamming noobs. They explode all the time, but mainly because they don't use the tank properly. |

Yeah, let's take less than a few weeks of tanks not be rolling deathtraps for anyone except the players with nearly all their SP in them that have spent months coming up with fits to let them be even slightly effective, and put them right back where they used to be.
You know what the best part is? I'm not even a tanker, and as a Dropship pilot I'm sick and ******* tired of my chosen role in this game getting jerked around because all anyone talks about is tanks.

Well I haven't taken out a single dropship with my swarms so there's that.
But a zero SP rail tank can pop dropship after dropship. Maybe tanks don't need any work, perhaps just limiting them to two per side. I don't know the answer and don't spend a lot of time contemplating vehicle balance, but it's not hard to tell that things are just as unbalanced as they were just different variables involved now.

outside of rail turrets, a good drop ship pilot is even harder to kill than tanks. They are faster and can run the fuk away super quick and can dictate range and angle of attack. A tank/infantry can't do **** against a drop ship directly over head.
I have seen 3 forge guns pounding a drop ship and just watched as it flew away and had full shields in no time at all and was back picking off infantry from above.
rails are the only good counter to dropships.
Also you dropship pilots can biitch about rail turrets once we get god dammn kills when we explode your damn ships. How can your ship be on fire, crashing to the ground but you can still jump out preventing us from getting the kill?
that is the only vehicle that you can survive destruction in. It is broken and stupid. |

You know you're bullshiting as you say that.
Complex hardeners with maxed skills have shorter cooldowns than than durations, so all you need is two hardeners and the best rep you can fit, then you have a passively repping, permanently hardened tank. No, I'm sure you totally could have taken that out with STD AV.
