Cheers guys for the link and advice. Any pointers towards a good corp? I've been soloing since early open beta that I didn't pay too much attention until now actually. |

message in game if you have any questions or concerns, I know finding a good corp is hard, and these guys welcomed me and put me to good use. they also pride themselves in winning as cheaply as possible, so there is a good laugh in taking out protos in starter fits.

i'd pick the corps that have chat channels available first, jump in a few, and see how you like it. However, that will be hit or miss. My first jump into a corp turned out to be a much less active corp than advertised. My second chat, I decided against the corp. My third and final was when I posted in the recruitment forums. I got a corp that is fairly active with a VERY active alliance. They do regular PC, are fun to hang with and its awesome to be part of something bigger than just my little corp. Good luck on your search!!

Depends on what kind of corp you're looking for. You have the boys club elite corporations which demand that you have a certain KDR rating before even consideration. Then you have the up and coming, good steady corps...but they often require a certain KDR rating as well. Then you have the training corps and lesser known corps.
It's best that you visit here often and read everything from war room, to General Discussions, and finally the corporation recruitment section to get a feel for the people who populate these corps. Then as somebody already suggested, squad with them and have some games to make sure the chemistry fits.
My corporation is recruiting as well...you can message me in game for details or search the corporation recruitment section for the threads Caldari Corps and Onuuto Uakan Hugaatsu thread.
Whatever you choose, good luck to your endeavors. It's always to fight with someone than without

I would come and say "Join Living Like Larry Schwag" and all that other good stuff, but you would do far better in a corp like DUST University.

Thanks again everyone for the replies and helpful tips. I've always wanted to try out PC although I think my K/D ratio isn't to spectacular (1.72) but I think 21 million sp might help me out out on this. The only issue is that I use a controller and my ps3 is hooked up to the TV and not the computer so when people say channels is it in game or something like team speak or vent? |

1.72 he says. If you want to see bad kdr, come see me.
When they say channels, they're talking about the chat system attached to the right side of your screen. You have basic 'local', 'corp', 'alliance', etc channels there. If you get invited to one or search for one (scroll all the way down to the '+' and you can search for a channel), you get to partake in additional areas of chat. Some channels require a password so you can't just jump into any you want. These chat channels are as various as drunk players hooking up on a friday, suit specific, or even for eve players only to connect with us dust bunnies to help with OBs.

Oh and since dust is kb/m compatible, I just plug in my keyboard to make chatting a bit faster with those that don't have mics. But if you have a mic, you can activate any channel to use audio and negate having to type at all.

20-40mil SP is what most vets have currently.
When people say "channels" they mean chat channels. If you press the SELECT button, then you will be shown your default channels, as well as an option saying "Join/Create Channel".
Press the X button and it will prompt you for a name to the channel. Type in the channel (and password if it requires one), and you will be placed into said channel.
No need for a computer.
Also, you won't get too far in this game without a mic. The mic doesn't have to be fancy like Turtle Beach headsets or anything as long as you can talk and hear through it.

Ah it makes all sense now! Well I'll look into getting a wireless headset and then look for a corp but going be the replies here I think I won't need to look far. |
