-What it is:- This high slot module increases the speed of the first second of sprinting by the % of the module, at the cost of a good chunck of your stamina everytime you press L3. The high stamina usage means the user can't sprint for long after that, meaning that it's only useful for closing short distances. It's used to close the distance to your enemy quickly in CQC situations, but limits mobility at longer ranges because of the stamina usage.
-List of names I thought of so far:- Kinetic Injector
-Some stats I pulled out of my ass:- Basic: CPU/PG usage - 25/2 Sprint speed increase: 20% Stamina usage: 50% Duration: 1 second
Advanced: CPU/PG usage: 35/3 Sprint speed increase: 25% Stamina usage: 45% Duration: 1 second
Prototype: CPU/PG usage: 45/5 Sprint speed increase: 30% Stamina usage: 40% Duration: 1 second
-Variants:- Sustained: Has more duration, but at increased stamina usage Flux: Has lower duration, but higher speed increase Efficienct: Has lower duration but lower stamina usage
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

How about changing the lore explanation from something biotic related (as kinetic would imply due to kincats) to something of a partial warp drive (as a full warp drive would be too large for a dropsuit)? The loss of stamina could be explained by stress on the body caused by the rapid acceleration from the drive. As another balance factor, it can also create a sound when used. (I realize this is splitting hairs as it doesn't change the functionality, but this explanation seems cooler and more sci-fi to me)
I'd also prefer it be a static amount of stamina. Our jumps already consume a percentage of stamina which irritates me to no end.

Thank you.
A high static cost can be just as balancing as a percentage cost but would allow for more diversity of fittings. Such as stacking kincats so you cover more ground per jump but can only jump a very limited number of times or stacking cardiac regulators so you can jump more but do not cover as much ground.

Or perhaps if you don't have enough it should just fail to activate.

I would love for an anime-ish dash (thinking Gundam), where the backpack opens up and just thrusts you forward. Would be nice as a module or a replacement to the sprint. As for a name what about Matter accelerator. |
