Nocturnal Soul wrote:Are better dual tankers than the Amarr, discuss you neck beards. I agree. In my opinion, as a Caldari suit user, it's because with the TTK so low now energizers and regulators rarely come into play. It's better to stack armor than to rely on hiding in cover to let your shields regen, even if it's much faster than armor regen. Not to mention everyone and their mother uses damage mods so at least two of my high slots are immediately taken up with damage mods just to be able to compete. |

I just thought of an idea damage mods in low slots like in eve ^_^ wait. Someone said this is dumb before but it sounds smart since you'd have to choose reps, regulators, plates, or duh duh duh damage mods. Hell I'd think their would be more diverse suits then

I don't think that'd be more diverse. That leaves the only practical highslot option as shield extenders. It effectively forces people to shield tank.

I hate to admit it, but it's true.
Yeah I may have 515 armor on an adv Amarr Assault suit, and two complex damage mods in the highs, but Caldari are far better dual tankers than Amarr.

I know Viktor but I just find it funny how the Amarr are projected as dual tankers having the best of both worlds while every Amarr supporter and their 5th cousins are armor tanking those suits because they're already slow as hell.

It effectively forces people to shield tank. You're right, but on the flip side right now most people are effectively forced to armor tank. At least in my opinion. There aren't a whole lot of options other than shield extenders and damage mods for highs - armor plates and armor reps as lows, other than perhaps profile dampeners. (Talking about medium suits not scouts btw)
Anyways, back to the OP. The Amarr slot count is actually perfectly fine for dual tanking, in theory. Unfortunately you can't make a proper dual tank suit because you need damage mods in the high. If you replace the damage mods with shields then you're going to want profile dampeners in your lows so you can sneak up on enemies to get the extra DPS in before they see you. |

Coming from a guy who can armor tank and have all the damage mods he wants I can either Shield tank and have no damage mods or damage mods with armor plates. See now isn't a armor guy in eve not supposed to be a heavy hitter since they have so much armor and the shield guys have a smidgen less but can hit harder hmm something isn't right here when people are supposed to have shields and not dual tank I personally hate damage mods they should be removed. But for a dunce like you whom needs a logi suit with a AR to win well yea. I'm a heavy and I say yes shields needs a buff why you may ask because I haven't seen a shield tanker yet and when I do they don't last long because they can't deliver the firepower to kill me even at range where I'm gently tickling them followed by me hunting them down to get them while their shields recharge. TTK and damage period have ruined anything not armor (tanking except vehicles). They need loving give it to em

Someone said this is dumb before but it sounds smart since you'd have to choose reps, regulators, plates, or duh duh duh damage mods. Hell I'd think their would be more diverse suits then Agreed. Damage mods SHOULD be low slot modules. It's in the lore of EVE. Used daily by EVE pilots. This is an EVE based game if I'm not mistaken.
Shield users are suppose to be fast, put out a lot of DPS for a short amount of time, run away, recharge and then go back into the battle. Armor users are suppose to be able to tank damage, put out normal amounts of DPS for extended periods of time, run away, repair and then go back into battle.
But in actuality it's...
Shield users ignore shields, use damage mods to compete and stack armor. Armor users ignore shields, use damage mods because there's nothing else for high slots and stack armor. Thus making both play styles the same, which they should be completely different.
The Amarr are suppose to have the best of both worlds, sadly they don't. Almost all suits I see on the field are armor heavy. Whether it's Minmatar, Gallente, Amarr or Caldari. It's really the only viable option. I for one shoot down shield users before armor users knowing they'll go down much quicker.

Now I am not entering the discussion whether shiled tanking (or any tanking as such) is UP in current meta, but do you really want to tell us that, for example, this gentleman: https://zkillboard.com/detail/35141523/ isn't viable and cannot compete?

Implying that shield tanking is worse than armor outside of huge fleets. |
