Nocturnal Soul wrote:Are better dual tankers than the Amarr, discuss you neck beards. I agree. In my opinion, as a Caldari suit user, it's because with the TTK so low now energizers and regulators rarely come into play. It's better to stack armor than to rely on hiding in cover to let your shields regen, even if it's much faster than armor regen. Not to mention everyone and their mother uses damage mods so at least two of my high slots are immediately taken up with damage mods just to be able to compete. |

Someone said this is dumb before but it sounds smart since you'd have to choose reps, regulators, plates, or duh duh duh damage mods. Hell I'd think their would be more diverse suits then I don't think that'd be more diverse. That leaves the only practical highslot option as shield extenders. It effectively forces people to shield tank. You're right, but on the flip side right now most people are effectively forced to armor tank. At least in my opinion. There aren't a whole lot of options other than shield extenders and damage mods for highs - armor plates and armor reps as lows, other than perhaps profile dampeners. (Talking about medium suits not scouts btw)
Anyways, back to the OP. The Amarr slot count is actually perfectly fine for dual tanking, in theory. Unfortunately you can't make a proper dual tank suit because you need damage mods in the high. If you replace the damage mods with shields then you're going to want profile dampeners in your lows so you can sneak up on enemies to get the extra DPS in before they see you. |

Damage mods SHOULD be low slot modules. It's in the lore of EVE. Used daily by EVE pilots. This is an EVE based game if I'm not mistaken.
Shield users are suppose to be fast, put out a lot of DPS for a short amount of time, run away, recharge and then go back into the battle. Armor users are suppose to be able to tank damage, put out normal amounts of DPS for extended periods of time, run away, repair and then go back into battle.
But in actuality it's...
Shield users ignore shields, use damage mods to compete and stack armor. Armor users ignore shields, use damage mods because there's nothing else for high slots and stack armor. Thus making both play styles the same, which they should be completely different.
The Amarr are suppose to have the best of both worlds, sadly they don't. Almost all suits I see on the field are armor heavy. Whether it's Minmatar, Gallente, Amarr or Caldari. It's really the only viable option. I for one shoot down shield users before armor users knowing they'll go down much quicker.
