I'm glad to see good survivability on a dropship. The amount of fire being tanked was a bit extreme, but not broken. Better to err on the side of too much tank since the alternative is so much worse. I wouldn't call foul unless someone gets away with casual hovering scooping up kills while taking infantry AV fire. Obviously no profession in Dust should be idiot proof.

Much better to use something that can solo a dropship, like another dropship or a militia rail tank. It's a terrible misuse of resources to put two guys on a job one can do.

AV versus Dropships:
Swarms: - Hardener up, little damage and doesn't cancel shield regen. - Hardener down, plentiful damage.
Forge Guns: - Hardener up, decent damage, cancels shield regen. - Hardener down, loads of damage.
Large Blasters: - Hardener up, ok damage, cancels regen (I think.) - Hardener down, lots of damage.
Large Missile: - Hardener up, decent damage (for an explosive) not sure about regen. - Hardener down, good damage.
Large Railgun: - Death. - Death. - Death...
One of the biggest factors for Dropships is the impact effects of AV. Forge Guns, Railguns, Missiles, Swarms...all of them can knock a Dropship for six, even if they're paying attention and the main way to recover your balance is to retreat and return: which is not only reducing how much firepower/covering fire you're giving, but it's also reducing the Hardener window. If/When (hopefully when) CCP introduces WP for damage dealt to vehicles, AV will be a lot less hurting (since they'll actually get some reward for driving vehicles away.) |

The problem in your video is not the strength of the dropship, You decided to use something that requires SP to beat them, this is a no no. Try a sica with 2 damage mods. minimal ISK, zero SP required. |

I was going to add to that. It is possible to activate more than 1 hardener at the same time. When I get hit once I activate 2 hardener... 3rd too if on cooldown. |
