I would like this also, for once in my past year or so of playing Dust, I actually want a respec...
Can we add a condition that we have to respec into forge guns as they arw the only viable AV tool now? I hopped onto my fiancee's character this morning and took out two tanks and two dropships with a militia forge in her heavy suit.
What gives? |

At proto Forge does 1440 rail damage vs the swarms 1320 explosive damage.
To elaborate forge of 1440 damage vs shields=1260 Swarms of 1320 damage vs shields=1056
Forge of 1440 damage vs armor= 1584 Swarms of 1320 damage vs armor= 1584
Now consider the forge gun is a heavy weapon and doesn't lock on and track....

Stop being such whiny b*tches and learn to work with the changes. Stop trying to solo a tank, ITS NOT GONNA WORK! A single guy should not be able to take out an enormous piece of metal by him self and you know it!
If you want to take out tanks either abuse the (completely broken) militia railgun with damage mods while it still stand or get a AV squad goin and bust tanks up!! you only need 2-4 guys to make a descent AV squad, depending on where their skills stand in AV gear...
If you are a very good AVer you should only need one sidekick to back you up! especially because of shitload of militia ****-tanks rolling around.

agreed people need to learn to work as a team i cant tell you how many times a PUB has got me killed though there stupidity
if you want to take a tank out take 2 guys with swarms in your team and wait for the bastard to stop repairing itself
on other note i do think swarms do need to have abit more damage in them 250 per missile but keep range the same as it is |

Right, it's a team based game. Unless you're in a tank, in which case you can drive, shoot, and work the gadgets all by yourself.
And sure, get an AV squad together and try to use swarms. You'll only need 4 guys with proto swarms firing 10+ times at a tank that isn't moving, attacking, activating hardeners, or running away. Simple, right? Not broken AT ALL.

I don't recall anyone saying it was supposed to be easy. "Doable" does not equal "easy". As it is right now, taking out a tank with swarms, AV grenades, or a combination of the two is nearly impossible. If it does happen, it's due to a mix of luck, coincidence, and a poor tank driver. Forge guns, rail gun installations, and other thanks should not be the only PRACTICAL ways to take out tanks. AV is anti-vehicle, not anti SOME vehicles. The last tank I saw taken out with swarms and AV grenades only happened because the driver accidentally got out near the opposing redline, was gunned down, and 4 guys laid into the unmanned tank for 20 seconds with no enemy interference. That is not balanced. That's even only slightly OP. It's straight up ridiculous. |

They should be tough no doubt, but this ain't "tough" it's madness. Just slow em down. Keep everything else since most of you like to have a walk in the park anyway. Also I know that if it cost a mil it's because you nearly made a mil. On my best assault game i've made 375k tops! I need lvl 5 swarms at 50k for a militia to know i'm there lol! That's 7 wyrkomi's. on my best game. I chose assault for the challenge, not godmode. Just saying. Continue eating chips, and breezing over us. Such skill! |

I really can deal with the damage aspect of it but the range , I mean ... seriously ???? You have to sometime be on top of the object that you are looking to lock on and I believe that something was done to the lock on time as well because it takes longer to catch a lock sometimes as well it's actually difficult to catch a lock now as well as the forge charge time .
This is counterproductive and should be addressed . Whomsoever the people who came up with that ideal , they need to be placed in another department that has nothing to do with the input in the actions and functionality of any weapon .
Increase the range , the lock on ability and take off the forge charge time hampers that were installed .

Tanks = Large, Semi-mobile, Metal objects with treads that could snap your neck if it ran over you with only 2 meters of it. Infantry = Small, Highly mobile, fleshy objects with the ability to wield weapons of various types to destroy Other small highly mobile fleshy objects and large semi mobile metal objects.
My point; To take out a tank, you need to keep AWAY from a tank. I know, its a very hard concept to understand so I will better describe it by utilizing a real world example. You are a person living in a city full of large semi-mobile metal objects that can kill you. Do you A, walk in front of them to stop them, or B use something large and damaging to stop them?
Take some time to mull this over and consider the options.
Case: A vehicle moving 100+ km/h is speeding towards you from a distance of 50 meters away.
Option A: You stand in front of the vehicle and do no damage to it, and you die. Option B: You avoid said object and use something highly damaging (such as explosives) to stop it.
Looks like Option B wins!
Moral of the story kids: To kill a tank, avoid its fire and hit it with explosives. Work as a team and hit it with A LOT of explosives because it is VERY well armored.

Tanks are anything but semi mobile. They are faster that LAVs with the right mods, even after the speed nerf, I have seen tanks doing ballet, two tanks formed a freaking triangle. Standing in a open level field. That is just plain wrong, tanks are supposed to be heavy clunks of metal. They are so agile its unbelievable.
Face the reality and stop with the semi mobile hypocrisy.
I have taken out a tank with a Militia Amarr Medium Frame Suit, it was a militia tank too. Shield Tanks, hardners or whatever mods uses makes it impossible to kill them.
And the whole talk about forming a team to take out a tank is just plain ridiculous. The game is fun because you can solo. This is not a soccer match or some sports game that you need more than one player. Even against proto players I can blow them up with one grenade or kill them at short range with a shotgun.
The "use a team of 2 or more to kill a tank" is just rubbish So if I was trying out the game to see if I should play it, I wont be able to unless I get another friend to play with me so I can have a team to take out a tank? Geez, you guys should make sense when you are arguing don't be so blinded by your own perspective that you can't see reason.
If the tanks are not fixed, many players will leave the game. And hypocrites can play with games by themselves Its sad how people quit in games that you have less than 16 players whenever Tank spam is involved.
I am sure you can all use your proto swarms and proto suits to take out 6 tanks yourself |

The fact is that without teamwork in this game, you will lose. i actually fought a skirmish match today and neither side actually had a single tank. my team lost because the team consisted of one squad with two members. everyone else on our side was squadless. sorry, but going solo in this game doesnt even work as a footsoldier taking out other footsoldiers.
