I screwed around with some of the basic modules for armor tankers with a salvaged maddy. I gotta say, stacking heavy armor repairs, even the basic versions seems to be far more effective then hardeners. The only thing that actually seems to out DPS 300 Hp a second seems to be rail guns, and Remote explosives.
Swarms tickle
Forgers are too slow, and wont be able to get off a second shot before all the damage from the first shot is repaired.
Most large rockets arent able to one shot armor tanks.
Blasters are lol.

Hello dmg modded proto missiles. then again, I don't think too many tankers have these, as they're a massive SP sink compared to the other two(WTF CCP, why make the middle child the most SP intensive of turrets) Although, it does have the highest burst in the game.
Hardeners don't count if you don't live long enough to activate them, right?
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

railguns are the only thing that matters for defense for tankers.
this is why having more than 1 rep is garbage, and hardeners are king.
Fun fact-
an ADV rail can also go through an armor hardener w/ 1 repper w/ 6 shots on the standard 4k armor tank to kill it before the rail overheats, meaning a 1v1 tank fight w/ a single hardener on your armor tank is super risky, and as a result, a soma itself is risky, as the low slots are best fitted w/ 1 hardener & 1 repper, while your shields cant really be hardened because they often are gone after the first shot. |
