Most of the good memories involved playing against Imperfects
Our 2nd or 3rd Corp battle (8v8) beating a decent Imp eam and realizing that we might actually have something.
Getting our ass handed to us by delta force on manus peak over and over again
Chromosome Cup
Losing to bunnies+Sha -- learned a lot from that one
The First 3 STB battles against Imps
The switcheroo final battle against Imps
The Streak: musta put up 50+ PC wins in a row... had a ton of fun with that
9-0 in the first OH war.... so many close matches
Going like 10-90 in the tournament against AE.... OH and RND were the only other good matches. I can't give them enough credit for the quality of the beat down that my team and I received in the final match of that fight... Outplayed on all fronts... Got outplayed so bad that not even Legend could carry us |

Lol that was the story passed down but I believe contraband was just trying to showoff and didn't expect the bunnies to actually pull that kind of a stockpile. I remember talking in corp chat (with my uvt) we had 2 people donate 50mil each along with several other smaller donations to make that. Remember everyone thinking imps were going to show up.
I remember in closed beta being a sniper in 843 Burgezz (not Burgezz E.T.F) going against Pink Fluffy Bunnies (not bounty hunterz) and going 19/1 with a scout type II.
I remember when I created my alt with my friend and owning games with a Myron. Best game in Chrome off a DS 58/0.
I remember when squad sizes were only 4 and obs were reserved for squads who actually were good. In chrome Kujo,Varukan Crone,my friend and I got a game in skirm combined score of 106/5 11k WP.
I remember talking to xerothebigboss in corp chat (with a uvt) about scouts that ended up with me doning an exile through all of chromosome after I stopped sniping. First 2 games 17/3 18/2 type a scout
I remember the last 2 weeks of chrome after Annie and calamity joined PFBz I started playing with a shotgun for the first time. First game 28/2 vk.0 basic shotty
I remember when running proto meant if you died you were in the red.
I remember being asked to be a leader of a corp without knowing how to do so. Turning the corp into one of the longest lasting and most powerful corps in new eden. |

I remember when mic to mic communication didn't even work. I remember sitting in a turret shooting at the MCC getting + 75 every now and again.
I remember forming that superhero group with Radar, Ultradeadly and Roborhino.
I remember hunting down Mr Zitro and doing everything we could to stop him getting out a tank.
I remember my first real corp battle, against Pink Fluffy bunnies. We lost. Ouch.
I remember when the Pilot suits were supposedly right around the corner (They are still not here, wow)
I remember when you went into the market place under turrets there was also listed 'laser' and 'artillery'.
I remember SOONtm
And most of all I remember the launch of Uprising when CCP released a trailer revealing PVE (seriously, **** you CCP)
Laser rifles OP. Swarm launchers annihilating infantry. Murder taxis. Snipers ruled the world. Huge mountains. Potential. Sagaris', Suryas, Type II suits. The old skill books.
Most of all I remember I was on Dust week 1 of its beta release and I played it about twice, because it was so garbage. After joining my corp on MAG I returned to it. It got kinda better I guess. It got progressively better promising everyone better things and painting a glorious picture thats fed to us one breadcrumb at a time. One day we'll have it all.

I remember when there were less than 10 players on the asian server (summer 2012). Myself, Nod Keras, ChankkSaotome, CoffinCheaterInc, Shadowspiritz, Beld Errmon. are the ones that stuck until today.
Back then you couldn't choose which servers to play, you are stuck playing on your server, unless you have a squad leader from another region. Squad goes to squad leader's region. |

Ydubbs81 RND wrote:I remember when pc battles weren't decided on who spammed uplinks the best.
Sorry to break your heart Ydubbs, but uplink spam was always how it worked :(. In the first days it was all about having a Gallante or Mimi logi runner and beating everyone to the spot, throwing a link down in the safest closest area to the point of conflict and finding the other team(Who almost invariably did the same thing, except with a scout)'s uplink, then the scout, then the point. One of the runners would break off and hack the point.... on some maps if you didn't get the point at the start you never would. Clean up the mess and you had a 2 minute head start. The majority of our early PC victories came exactly like this.
After we would go to a supply depot and switch to suits with as many different kinds of nanos, triage nanos, and uplinks as possible and place them EVERYWHERE. Usually there was enough time to get the vast majority of them out before the enemy could make another push at it. At that point it was time to switch to a speed suit and get ready to play whack a mole with the enemy uplinks. This was exactly how we played almost every match until the vehicle call in speed change made loading up a drop ship faster than sending runners.
Typically we would also put a few guys in a drop ship and send it to the best available area of high ground as well, with the goal of denying that area to the opposition. Loaded with links, a forger and sometimes a swarm( so that no drop ships could reclaim that area).
Point being, uplink spam and countering uplink spam was our primary goal from nearly the start of PC. Doc DDD, Zatara, and (slightly later) Zdubz, all did a fantastic job of laying them down and we won a TON of matches just based on that tactic alone(with a lot of help from our shooter buddies!)

I remember when we could only play 4 days a week--Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday--then the servers would shut down for 3 days and everybody would be here on the forums jonesing for a chance to play, begging CCP to open them up early, which they did on occasion.
I also remember the very beginning of the imperfects and their split from Betamax. Jenza tried to lolspin it as only a "name change" and an attempt to avoid Sony's copyrights or trademarks regarding their video player. I was in Zion at the time and Shad ordered us to keep it hush hush and to not comment on it..lol

Perhaps....just that all of the corps that I've faced early in pc and all of the vids that I've seen of early pc matches, didn't have uplink spam.
They all used uplinks, of course, but the spam wasn't there.
