Speed broke the game in Chromosome. It was the golden age of scouts, mostly because Kinetic Catalyzers were the most OP broken thing ever. It was all about dancing through bullets, with the poor hit-detection and high movement speed, and strafe-sprinting (only on kb/m) you couldn't hope to hit a Scout. While the top contributor was the KinCats of yore, they were only supposed to increase sprint speed but because someone effed up they actually increased everything's speed. from movement to rate of fire
Yeah, I rocked a Logi with 3 complex damage mods, Viziam Laser Rifle, and 3 kincats because I knew it was broken
But they changed a lot of things in Uprising. Especially when the hit-box on the scout was lagging some 5-10 meters behind. And hit-detection with the shotgun... ugh, the faster your suit the less likely your shots were to hit. Those medium-frame shottys never had the problem of a speed tanked scout.
But 1.6 made everything better. I don't have a laggy hit-box, and my weapon hits more than 90% of the time. Of course, the auto-aim completely killed speed tanking as anything and everything hit. But now, aim assist assists your aim instead of moving your reticle for you and we can run around again...
I miss the associated skill with Kinetic Catalyzation giving me 2% to movement and sprint speed instead of 2% efficacy to module per level
Also don't get confused, the "Stamina Nerf" was not a nerf to stamina values or stamina per second but instead it came from the 1 second delay between expending stamina and regenerating it.
I don't believe that having our sprint speed over 11m/s is going to break the game. I say set the sprint speed on the Gallente Scout at 9.67 and the Minmatar Scout at 10.

fun fact, top speed I've personally run at is 30mph- I was supposed to maintain that speed for 5 seconds but after recent surgery in my lower abdominal area I hadn't recovered fully enough to do that. Doubly fun, I was training with Olympic athletes at the time who were doing the same training only their goal was 35 mph for ten seconds.
These were on special treadmills with harnesses so there is that part, and air resistance is the major hurdle for getting past 26mph on an actual track, but Usain Bolt has been clocked at closer to 27mph. While current science proposes that top speed a human can reach is 40mph
Not to mention that Cardiac Regulators and Kinetic Catalyzers are based off of EVE's boosters. Boosters have huge drawbacks. you inject them and they last from 5 minutes to an hour and after words you have a crash. Biotic mods in DUST don't suffer this problem for the same lore problems that dropuplink teleportation doesn't affect mercs: we're going to die so lets use every advantage we can. Plus the Scout suit's description says it is made to go faster and jump higher than normal. 7.63m/s on a Gallente Scout is
Top Speed problem the current base speed is uder 18mph. lol high-school sprint speeds are better than that. You're telling me that a body that should be trained to be peak physical health can't outrun a little 16 year old?
But Regardless of speed being the issue, so many tourists thinking they know about scouts. He you guys go, something that was coined by the patron saint of scouts:
Tourist Checklist Was the proposed "fix" posted by someone other than a Scout? Does the proposed "fix" include Shared Squad Sight in some form? Does the proposed "fix" benefit others more than it benefits the Scout? Does the proposed "fix" provide for nerfs to accompany any/all buffs? Does the proposed "fix" receive unanimous support from non-Scouts? Does the proposed "fix" perturb the majority of full-time Scouts?
Most of these suggestions look like they come from a bunch of people in Hawaiian tee shirts that keep staring up because the buildings are so tall.
