So I'm getting ready to make a shotgun build and I plan on using a scout suit. I'm leaning more toward the Gallente suit mainly because it has the most low-power slots. Im open to suggestions as far as prioritizing SP out the gate and tactics. Any other useful info would be great. Thanks |

Well, since I don't know if you are already into any of the scout suits, so I will start at basic scout fitting:
Basic Scout (either)
Shotgun (when you look at the stats, using a MLT Shotgun you lose you 2 rounds in the clip, increase reload time, - and have to pay more for fitting)
Choice of Sidearm (anything you feel comfortable with except Nova Knifes, you already have a CQC weapon so you are weak - - at a distance and I would fit to lessen that)
Flux Active Scanner (Unless you go for Gallent., then one day you could use the racial bonus in proto to be a passive scanner, - - this one I chose for the range)
MLT Profile Damp (Now this is only one but a would make a duplicate fitting with two for those matches that you are being - - constantly scanned. I would use the fitting tool to lower your scan profile so you can beat advancedscan)
MLT Locus/ Flux/ AV (With the play style you choose: Kill with locus, run through and toss a Flux to quickly wipe equipment - - like remote explosives and uplinks, AV for the vehicle use explosion that has happened recently.)
As for the high slot and the second low:
It depends on your other skills for what is worth more. Running a MLT Kinetic Catalyzer is almost worthless alone unless you have skilled to proto already to get the additional speed bonuses. Whereas, the MLT Cardiac Regulator is a decent module even without skilling into it. A MTL Light Damage Mod is OK for shotgun without the skills, but a MTL Shield Extender without skills is not, IMO. If you are a Precision/ Range adept, then go for the MLT Precision Enhancer/Range Extender to passive scan since it does increase your ability to scan through walls and around corners which is helpful in tight quarters.
I run a Reactive Armor Plate/Sheild Extender to increase my survival after my first encounter and the MLT Damage to attempt one shot kills which will also increase your survival beyond your first encounter.
Skill into whatever is the counter to why you just died: not enough health, not fast enough, didn't see him -- scan; and you will run this till you learn that you are three tissues in the wind. Become quick and stealthy, come at people from the side. Running a scout suit calls for you to use a lot of CPU and PG to fit better on lower suits to keep costs down. Yes skill is one thing in this game but you will die.... a lot as a shot gunner. So keeping the ratio of cheap vs. quality equals success with one of the hardest suits to run. |

Stealth Scout = Best Scout. If you're careful enough and/or paranoid enough (As I am), you can go 30/0, However, with a Speed Scout (Shotgun KinCat Stacking), you're always going to die, in the state that Scouts are in.
While Stealth Tanking, there's no reason a small HP count will impede your abilities, but speed helps.

If you don't have any points in dampening or your scout suit, you will need two militia profile dampeners on a light frame to avoid 36dB proto scanners. Basic scanners start at 46dB so you dodge these inherently without skills. Unless your concern is to dodge passive scans from fellow scouts or mediums skilled into precision enhancement, there is no reason to put only one militia profile dampener on a militia light frame; it's a wasted module.
However, if you have profile dampening to Lvl 5, one basic or militia dampener will get you under advanced scans. |

i just use caldari assault with 1 complex damp. avoids adv scanners. shove 2 to avoid proto scanners. and run it with a adv scanner. easy... not as fast not too slow...more hp...in shields.. great for quick initiating for fast regen to stick into the fight up front wrecking havoc. cbb with gal scoutlooking for armour reps after killing a couple dudes.
the way i shoot my shotgun is tap the aim button and tap fire right after words and let go and reacquire my target to keep my spread as small as possible. shotgun shoots 12 pellets each doing 40,42,44. every pellet counts for quick one shot kills. think of it s quick scoping but with a shotgun |
