lolwut. If you describe something as Spartan, that means it is bare essentials. Amarr are all about flash and bling, you couldn't be more wrong if you tried. You're actually just 1800s Americans with lasers.

Did you miss the part in history class where knights wore crosses on their chests and invaded the middle east in the name of christianity? You know, the crusades?

Meh, but Britain had abolished slavery by the early-mid 1800s, plus they weren't as completely obsessed with religion as the South was back then(and still is).

The red/gold/white is a Roman color thing, religious inscriptions on weapons, conquering the galaxy and enslaving the conquered. Hell we even have an empress (used to be emperor). You can't get much more roman than the amarrians are.

We are less Spartans a more a Holy Roman Empire, we share more tenets with them than the Spartans.
I would have more closely associated some of the Caldari societal aspects wih the Greek city states.t

Actually the crusades was not a war of aggression on the part of christians. The Vatican and Knights Templar just got sick of the fact that muslims constantly raided, murdered and raped Christian pilgrims traveling to and fro the holy land.

Its not that the are represented in EVE by physical features but there are a great many aspects of an industrial Japanese society as well as colonial Europeans in America.
The only reason you might have believed that about the Caldari is the recent period of state political control under Tibus Heth who while being rather.....unstable did indeed bring back the notions of meritocracy and corporate pride.
Currently now the 8 CEO of the Megacorporations rule the State once again.

(No im not a christian or bigoted towards islam, I hate all Abrahamic religions equally being a militant atheist, but I do try to keep a good grasp of history) Not really... Western Europe, or Rome, wanted to take the opportunity to save the Byzantine Empire from getting overtaken, at least that was a reason they cited. The real reason was that the Roman Catholic Church got sick of the Western European kingdoms attacking each other, so they hoped to divert the warrior classes to the middle east to try to unite them. It didn't work and one of the crusades actually got hijacked by Italian merchants and they sacked the Byzantine Empire.
The Muslims did pillage but they actually restored cities they sacked. Forced conversion did not occur because they made non believers pay a tax, so if the general populace wasn't Muslim they would get a lot more money.
Also Muslims at the time rarely attacked strangers as they preferred to trade Eastern products for Western raw materials, like stone, Gold, Silver. It may surprise you to know that at this point in time manufacturing was far more advanced in the East than in the West.

Firstly you need to know this community is horrible, Aisha is pretty cool though.
And no the Spartans do not resemble the Amarr, there are much better parallels you can draw with other classical era groups.
The Amarr believe form = function, the term Spartan is also a modern descriptor for something that is plain and fuctional, not really suited for describing the Amarr.

WRONG!
Spartans war not monotheistic, and certainly were not theocratic. Spartans were very much about functionality and NOT beauty, obsessed with military arts. Amarr are monotheistic, theocratic, very much about having a beautiful aesthetic , and obsessed with their god.
Clearly no comparison is perfect, but this isn't even close. Amarr is more like a mix between the Roman Empire and Europore during the crusades.

No the Minmatar aren't adequately represented by the Spartans because the Spartans were notorious users of slave labour and rigid closed social castes.

That I believe is the Achura religion is it not, I'm not wholly familiar with it but the Caldari practice ancestor worship and spiritualism depending on which sect of the spiritualists you talk to.
Yun Hee would be best to describe this, he knows every facet of the Caldari spiritualism.

Amarrians are closer to the Persians during one do their peaks. The Jove are definitely closer to the Spartans, at a least when measured by individual ship firepower. The comparisons fall apart some because at what could have been another Battle of Thermopaly the Jovians beat a much larger Amaran Armada that was sent to teach them a lesson.

No the reason I believe that is because I look at the obvious sources that ccp has taken inspiration from when creating the caldari in terms of aestethics, culture etc.
But I like the fact that Caldari are a bunch of hypercaptalist space-*****. I have a soft spot for the Naziesque and militant in games, which is why I love the Imperium of Man in Warhammer 40.000 (although Amarr seem closer to them), the Helghast in Killzone etc.
The old "american good guys/heroes"-trope is just sooo boring and uninteresting compared to hardcore space-*****.
