I've heard different things but does the dragonfly assault benefit from the Caladari assault skill? Same question for the Dren Logi and Minmatar logi skills. Also does the Exile assault rifle benefit from AR skills? Are the MAG tribute suits an exception?
I'm interested in evidence based assessments, like player testing or dev confirmations.

AFAIK:
BPO weapons have pretty much always been assumed as benefiting from the relevant skill trees. Similarly, the Dren and Templar dropsuit sets are also generally assumed to gain the benefits from the relevant skills. I believe that the Covenant Assault C-I gets the benefit of the CalSalt racial skill.
This said, I'm about 99% certain that the Dragonfly suits are considered BPO light/medium frames, rather than BPO versions of the standard-level specialization suit, like the MAG tribute suits, and the Dren/Templar BPO sets. |

I can confirm that the Dragonfly Assault and Covenant Assault BPO's benefit from Caldari assault bonuses. Same with the Templar Logi and assault suits with Amarr bonuses (don't have any heavy skills to test the templar sentinel). I use all 4 frequently, and for the first 4-5 months I played this game I used the dragonfly assault almost exclusively.
I don't know sbout the Drens.
I'd have to assume the Exile benefits from AR skills but I can't say I've tested it. It certainly seemed to be more powerful as I got AR proficiency up.

The Dragonfly, Dren, and the Tribute suits (Raven, Sever, and Valor) do benefit. The Skinweaves are militia and don't.

I'm assuming by your tag that you've personally tested out the dren logi?

Reav, IIRC, has indeed ran Dren Logi.
Fun fact: Dren is backwards for Nerd. If you spend 100$ on a game, you're a nerd.
