Why isn't this a general skill? The other skills you can think of as "modifications" to your weapon. Increased damage, less recoil, etcetera, etcetera are things that can be done to a weapon. Carrying extra ammo is just something you can do. Why can't there be one skill for handheld weapons to increase ammo carrying capacity across the board? |

Because then I won't have to spend weeks grinding out the SP to get it for both my CR, smg, and perhaps the Flaylock.

This skill isn't in general ammo supply, its supposed to represent personal modifications to the magazine that allow for more ammo per clip.

Because the skill being tied to specific weapons increases grind time; which at the moment is considered core game play unfortunately.

That is an extended magazine, which no one has. If that was a skill, I'd be behind that myself. The Krin's would he an example of a extended magazine. |

Imagine a Krin's with an extended magazine skill it would have like an infinite clip.

It doesn't affect the carried amount of ammo, but how much ammo is in the clip. Seems like I tried it on a HMG and it just resulted in more overheating. I know for sure it's another round in the clip per level for the Scrambler Pistol, Flaylock, and maybe Mass Drivers.

The Scrambler Pistol's operation skill is +1 Clip Capacity/level. However, Ammo Capacity skills are to total ammunition carried- otherwise you'd see PlasCans that have six-round clips instead of being the one shot wonder it currently is.
Certain weapons, namely: FGs, PlasCans, MDs, Swarms, and Flaylock pistols- have an Ammo Capacity skill that functions as a flat bonus, being +1 (total) Ammo Capacity per level, rather than the traditional +5%/level bonus. As an example, I currently have FG Ammo at lvl2, and I still have a 4-round clip. I just have 14 rounds in reserve. |

Test character has level one scrambler pistol operation and flaylock pistol operation. No other skills. Also, I'm going to pay no attention to correct terminology regarding clips and magazines because I'm a scrub.
Ammo details without ammo skills are as follows:
Flaylock Pistol: 3 in the clip, 12 carried. Scrambler Pistol: 8 in the clip, 34 carried.
Now I'm skilling into ammo capacity for both of these. Flaylock's ammo capacity description says: "+1 missile capacity per level" which is pretty ambiguous. Scrambler says it offers "+5% maximum ammunition capacity per level".
Both of these skills are at level 2.
Ammo details with ammo skills are as follows: Flaylock Pistol: 3 in the clip, 14 carried. Scrambler Pistol: 8 in the clip, 38 carried.
So no, the bonus to ammunition only affects what you can carry.

Also, advice? Don't make a character who can only use those two weapons. Holy hell did I get melted by combat rifles.
Experiment is easily repeatable if anyone wants to challenge those findings.
