The part people forget is that this is a game. We should all come here to enjoy playing, whether its the corporate espionage, Faction Warfare Role Playing, showing scrubs how to play or telling each other different ways to play the game in general.
This is not reality! Dust....Molden Heath....New Eden.....these are all virtual spaces! And for those of you who realize this; kudos. For the rest that grief new players and constantly want their own playstyle/weapon/vehicle to be the best in the game forever-this game is not about instant gratification or your selfish kd/r obsession. This game, along with Eve (although not a player myself, I've read a lot about Eve from the Second Decade) is based on a longer time table; a chance to create your own path as a mercenary, a corporate monster, or the best dropship pilot that can sway a battle. But its a progressive line, not instant, that allows this to happen.
We are spoiled with FPS games. All of them offer cool stuff, but are cookie cutter copies of Doom, Wolfenstein, Goldeneye, and others that have followed. Dust is an evolving game, and unless you can *gasp!* commit to the fact this game will forever be a building process, you will never be happy; never be fulfilled and searching for the next cool shooter.
Of course that's just my .02 ISK......regardless of anyone might say, that's what I feel/believe.

Thanks. And at least its a sensible point of view. This game merely mirrors how society is: always wanting more, yet we rely on CCP to bring us content to improve our gaming life. We can either choose to abuse the mechanics of the game and start a tidalwave of negative feedback, or try to use the tools to show how Dust is still a fun and viable game. Granted, the content is coming soonTM, but we don't have the keyboard to put stuff in ourselves.

I second this lol.
But Oswald hit a point: not many know how to talk on these forums constructively. It involves too many egos just for an FPS in its infancy, just in terms of content alone. And even though you see other forums of other games being a lot worse, I think it is somewhat midigated by the presence of the devs here.

Surt gods end wrote:It's not that hard to really not understand. Eve is a mmo. mmo communities are like anime communityes to me. no matter what anime you like, you all come together to enjoy anime.
FPS games (like PS2) Are like gladiator games. Think football. It's.... more complicated. Just liking football doesn't mean you can stick ravens and patriots fans in the same room and expect it to go smoothly. different genres man. People take their teams to heart. And FPS games, players take their battles to heart.
But you can have mutual common ground. and many do. But I see nothing wrong in it. FPS are not building anything. They are what they are. Arenas for the battle of the gods.
Exactly. This game is trying to truly meld FPS and MMO successfully. I enjoyed MAG when it was still online, and despite its flaws, this game should be able to capitalize on those mistakes.
And the football reference is spot-on. It's literally MMO nerd vs. Overpassionate FPS nerd. Both are wanting the same thing, yet both go about their business very different.
