Hmmm.... what's there in common between PS2 and Dust? Lets connect the dots. F2P FPS is the answer - this is the root problem.
EVE is an MMO the sense of community is in the center of any successful MMO - players identify themselves as citizens of whatever virtual world they play in.
Dust is an FPS, it attracts and foster players who are aggressive and competitive a lot of whom are also pretty young - teens and very early 20s. If you throw an untoward monetization system in our case F2P that skews the balance of this competitive environment, you end up with a lot of angry ppl.
Surely this is readily apparent to you, no?

Truth of the matter is CCP will do what they want, when they want, and how they want. I've yet to see a player credited on a significant development change, even if it was done in the the same proposed manner. It may be your idea, but CCP codes it and you can bet your biomass ass that they're going to take credit or claim it was part of that invisible road map. The people that don't regularly post on the forums are the Dust 514 community. We're just a dive bar full of bitter vets and trolls with nothing else better to do.
Oh come on. We are not 'brats'. We are consumers who complain about a poorly made product offered to us under false advertisement. Honestly, I don't care if I make an impact on Development, I don't believe I will - and if so, as far as I am concerned, it's CCP's funeral and they can do as they please. I will however be heard otherwise, I am just folding in.

The vast majority of the game you did not pay for, so feeling entitled doesn't make sense. You can feel entitled about the various packs, the value of aurum, the usefulness of various aurum items, because you payed for those, but not other stuff.
Oh rly? I spent $60 - I believe I have paid for everything this game can possibly offer. Moreover, I paied when in closed beta, spending money on merc pack that was promised to be reimbursed on release - we know how that one went. So I was paying back then to support efforts to develop a game that CCP promised. Instead I am stuck with what Dust is now to far from the game CCP said they were making. I know that I was not paying for 'a pack' of things that don't even exist in the real word. To state the latter would actually be the thing that makes no sense.

I know that I was not paying for 'a pack' of things that don't even exist in the real word. To state the latter would actually be the thing that makes no sense. You didn't pay for Dust, you payed for items in Dust. The fact that you spent $60 does not mean you payed for the game, just means you payed for a lot of items. While I understand your motive for buying these items was to fund the game's improvement, your intention does not change the nature of the transaction; the nature of the purchases was not "pay X amount of money, and in exchange we will make this game great". That being said, I don't like the current state of Dust, I am disappointed, and I want it to improve. I just think its wrong to feel entitled about it for the aforementioned reason.
You keep saying that but you are wrong. I know what I paid for and sure as hell it was not for items that don't really exist. I paid for the game. I lot of ppl here did not. You surely did not given that it seems as such a foreign concept to you. I did. And I want quality for my money.
I am not saying I can turn in what I paid for but I know that when you pay money in f2p you are actually paying for the game that other ppl choose not to pay for.

There are not many game series or game worlds I care too much about. Personally, aside from this EVE story we play in and the MGS storyline, not many other games really capture my fascination quite like this game.
Ppl who left never cared much ppl who stay fight more because they are passionate.
Also, I have not seen it said before so I will stick it here: ppl fight so much because CCP is bipolar: they send the game through wild swings creating hostile camps of players: e g "take AA away and make it a competitive FPS how it used to be" vs "AA is a godsend, all modern FPS have it"
