I miss it.
Now it's all about who puts out the most damage the fastest and who's got the most resistance and or EHP.
Can we get the old Dust back, the one you needed brains to do well in.

The PC and SL should fit into Sidearm/ Equipment slots so it's accessible and practical to carry one.

People are too lazy to be tactical You noticed that players like to swarm into areas in Pubs when they spot a red? Yeah it's just a blob fest. I've been trying to promote tactics outside PC but people don't listen unless they're corp members. It's annoying but whatever.
Tactical comes from us, the community. There's a lot you can do if you step outside the box but so many people have that "stomp or be stomped" mentality when it's not always that simple. Coordinated attacks, trickery, ambushes, para-trooping, etc...
TL;DR: People are too lazy to be tactical

This game is as tactical as Battlefield and Halo.
When I think of tactical, I think of slow paced, low health, cover-based gameplay. For example, Tom Clancy games.

Even though I simply quoted The Princess Bride, my point still stands. Too many people are confusing tactical with tactics. This game was and never will be tactical with snap cover and that duck and cover gameplay at its highest emphasis. There's a bit of a common ground between twitch/arcade, tactical, and strafing/tracking FPS sub-genre, but it needs to meet a little more in the middle so everyone is equally disappointed instead of people looking for a F2P CoD or BF clone. First and foremost, Dust needs to be a thinking man's FPS where your fittings are an extension of your preferred playstyle and enough equal ground for player skill being dominant enough to beat SP skill. Like it or not, they finally did this with tanks in 1.7 with a strong enough foundation to build on it. Now it's infantry's turn.

I agree it's a bit of a mixed shooter, like if I strafe for a second makes a difference if I kill or get killed, and with my dragonfly scout, I definitely have to be tactical.

Add a bubble sheild to this game, and watch it become more tactical.
Also they should add cloaking, riot shields, and jet packs....
I think I'm the only person still waiting for mechs/giant robot killing machines.....

still this game is far more tactical than other fps games, battlefield is good but people still run and gun with a sniper, cod is TO MY OPINION pathethic and unrealistic, killzone is good, very good but lacks vehicles in most matches and has lower player per match and ttk is very low

lagg causing spam...tactic
dropship spam..tactic
lav spam...tactic
op combat rifle spam...tactic op rail rifle spam...tactic
the extremely over powered zerg rush tactic..
orbital spam tactic...
as i said ALOT OF stupid tactic.. but sometimes we get a decent match where some actually none stupid tactics are used... |

No, DUST is about winning resources for EVE. CCP stupidly did not focus on that first so here we are with all the b*tching about weapons balance and aiming like it matters and DUST has been lost in the mix of all the other fps combat games.
You hear that ppl? It's a resource gathering game. You are supposed to care about your EVE ovelords. Oh the QQ that will start when CCP actually starts focusing on that main aspect and stops worrying about what everybody is worrying about now.

See CCP incorrectly chose the fps as the format for this game. It should have been a RTS. I remember seeing an interview where they wanted it to be a RTS but decided to make it a FPS after playing Halo and Section 8. This game really had a lot of potential in early development, but a lot of that seemed to be scrapped thanks to the cancer of modern military FPS and a year of not having a foundation to build on. Just look at this thread, people are still arguing over if this game is a tactical FPS or not. Stuff like that makes me worry about the future of this game.
