well in FW you can shoot then to detonate faster

Consider yourself lucky. I've been having an issue of getting them to detonate at all lately when placing them by a node. Managed to blow up a tank by tossing three onto the back of it and pressing the detonator...but no luck actually using them as a defensive weapon. I've had several instances of being less than 150m away from the node, seeing the flashing indicator that it is being hacked, pressing the detonation button and...nothing. So I then sprint back to the node and (hopefully) kill the red(s) before counterhacking the node...surrounded by the three REs that I placed in the area, standing as silent witnesses to poor gameplay design.
Life is killing me.

mines weren't sure which one should detonate first & which to get a kill... but tank was too fast
