Been griefed a few times with proximities/res in FW, and I think I have a solution:
Ownership of proximity mines/explosives transfers to the person who explode them via damage.
This way if a red shoots a proximity mine to blow up a friendly, the red gets credit.
Similarly, if a blue shoots a proximity mine to kill a friendly, the blue gets the credit.
I've had blues blow me up on my own mines, which should count against their damage quota (but doesn't)
And I've had people blow themselves up on my mine to remove me from faction warfare, and this should not count against anyone's quote, as it was suicide.
We need this change done to Proxies and REs to prevent griefing, otherwise their viability in FW will diminish. |

Why call it "ownership"? That's a terrible term to use.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage looks nicer.

What's wrong with the term? You blow up a prox/re that isn't yours, it becomes yours, and the associated points/penalties as well.
You break it you bought it. |

Other equipment doesn't blow up enemys/friendlies
He's 100% right about this, I had a teammate shoot my RE and kill a red, I got the 50wp even though technically my teammate provided the kill
Same goes with FF, if someone detonates my RE on a friendly that's me getting kicked
keep in mind this should only work for Friendly Fire
If a red detonates my RE then thats my problem |

I never said I was against the concept, but why the hell would you want to call it ownership? -_-

Fair enough, but I pay near 30k for my boundless RE so that does give me the right to claim ownership
He's right though If a friendly detonates my RE/PE that needs to be rewarded/punished on his side
It may lead to trolling but that's not new, plus at least in FW I can pop a fool messing with my stuff |

The object instance ID should be assigned to to the player ID who who triggers the explosive.

Only apply to blues, if you give a red the assets to kill a blue that's greifing We don't want to see blue re in a group of blues just because they can

I see what you mean. I think you could do this pretty easily by saying whoever causes a RE or mine to explode is responsible for its effects. Most often this would be the owner pressing the detonator, but as we know there may be other causes.
This would have to fall back on the owner, however, in cases where it's indeterminate what caused the explosion. (I'm sure it happens sometimes.) |

For one, what you're actually thinking of is OCPD. OCD is where you compulsively form and follow irrational habits. For two, OCPD is not necessarily bad. You can seek treatment if you dislike it, but it's not a serious disorder by any means. For three, medication is a terrible way to treat both OCD and OCPD. Therapy is usually far more effective and has far fewer side effects.
Also, claiming someone has a psychological disorder on the internet, even as a joke, is terrible.

The pile of garbage is more lethal.

I'm pretty sure this level of pedantry is a disease of some sort.

God damn you forum fool's getting off topic.... Then wondering why CCP take no interest in some threads
If my explosives are detonated by a friendly than they should be punished/rewarded they set it off so they caused the dmg they should get +/- WP It is that simple....
In the case of enemys detonating my explosives I see no need to change how that works
