Been griefed a few times with proximities/res in FW, and I think I have a solution:
Ownership of proximity mines/explosives transfers to the person who explode them via damage.
This way if a red shoots a proximity mine to blow up a friendly, the red gets credit.
Similarly, if a blue shoots a proximity mine to kill a friendly, the blue gets the credit.
I've had blues blow me up on my own mines, which should count against their damage quota (but doesn't)
And I've had people blow themselves up on my mine to remove me from faction warfare, and this should not count against anyone's quote, as it was suicide.
We need this change done to Proxies and REs to prevent griefing, otherwise their viability in FW will diminish. |

Ulysses Knapse wrote:Why call it "ownership"? That's a terrible term to use.
What's wrong with the term? You blow up a prox/re that isn't yours, it becomes yours, and the associated points/penalties as well.
You break it you bought it. |

The object instance ID should be assigned to to the player ID who who triggers the explosive.
Now get some meds for your OCD. |

Almost got banned last night again.
Proxies are an important part of keeping vehicles in check, we need them to be usable without undue penalties. |

OCD is where you compulsively form and follow irrational habits. For two, OCPD is not necessarily bad. You can seek treatment if you dislike it, but it's not a serious disorder by any means. For three, medication is a terrible way to treat both OCD and OCPD. Therapy is usually far more effective and has far fewer side effects. Also, claiming someone has a psychological disorder on the internet, even as a joke, is terrible.
I'm pretty sure this level of pedantry is a disease of some sort.
