With the introduction of the changes to faction warfare and the introduction of the LP system, it has given me new reasons to prolong my afking. Before 1.7, I only had to afk for 2-3 days to reach my SP Cap and then I could turn off the system until the cap got reset. It is now Friday and even though I reached the cap yesterday I realized that im still afking today.
Since the standing points are the same per win, no matter how active you are, It's going to take just as long to reach a level 10 standing as it will a player who works for the win. Looking it another way, I can level up my standing just as fast by afking then I would if I wasted suits and stuff. How awesome is that??? Thats +75 standing points per win. Oh but how this feels like a grind. Worse than the SP Grind. I'm barely at a level 4 standing and I stopped keeping track how many battles I've... well, my team has won.
With that said, this is a good incentive to afk Friday-tuesday... and instead of afking for isk and SP in pub matches I figured since I have enough isk to survive a couple of weeks, I can spend all week afking for LP, SP, and standing points. Then once I reach my cap, my focus will switch to LP and standing points. And the best part is, even if I lose... I still get LP. ITS A WIN WIN WIN.
But what happens when blue berries want to be meanies and interrupt you hard work in the MCC corner by killing you with the new friendly fire option turned on? It's like CCP wants you to stop afking and that would be sad for the minority afkers. So to make sure CCP keeps in mind ALL players, they also added a punishing system. So now every time a blue berry interrupts me I can punish them. And after 2-5 kills (more if they have high standing), they get kicked off the match, get a penalty from accessing FW for a certain amount of time, and best of all, lose standing points. I think that was a great compromise to please afkers and active players alike.
I believe 1.7 has taking a step forward to keep afkers more active longer in the week than just losing them a couple of days after cap has been reached. Especially after the step back we had when they introduced an anti afking system couple months back. That was a stab in the heart to us afkers. But we forgive you. |

Actively participating in battles raises your teams chances to win, thus raising your standings and LP faster. Also, AFKers suck. Sorry, you're exploiting the system because you're meant to actually fight. You are contractually obligated to engage in combat, as the game puts it. It makes the teams you're on more likely to lose, just so you can get some XP in a video game without working for it. Pathetic.

I dont usually leave the console... Im either watching movies or playing bf4... once I hear the shooting I turn around, punish, respawn, and keep doing whatever it was I was doing. |

Every experiment has its defects... clones are no different, sometimes you get a bad batch here or there who dont do what they're suppose to... Im a derpship pilot. but sometimes it mistakes the mcc for the derpship. my clones dont understand the difference. |

Not on the Minmatar side. Too many Imperfects and Ancient Exiles going Amarr these days.
Your reward for AFKing will be 40LP, some random basic loot, and nothing else.
If you're looking to maximize your return on AFKing, just sayin'.
