Psyon Sebiestor FACTION WARFARE ARMY 25	Posted - 2013.12.20 21:17:00 - [1] - Quote Remove the Lock on feature and give them dumb fire Let's face it when Proto Swarm Launchers need to work in a group v a Tank with no modules active, within the SL lock on range, not under fire from enemy infantry, with a clear line of sight at the target and still require luck in that the Tank doesn't move just behind a hill or a pole to even have a chance at taking it out you know it's useless as an AV weapon Allow infantry to use the weapon v other infantry, having a weapon that can only target vehicles and installations that can't even take out MLT or STD tanks by itself at proto level is pointless It is the equivalent of a Duvolle AR not being able to kill a starter Fit infantryman by itself The real problem between Vehicles and AV was that we had PROTO AV v STD/MLT vehicles .. that is why they got taken out so easily .. now we are in the position where Proto AV is struggling to take out even 1STD/MLT vehicle in a group .. what on earth is it going to be like when ADV and Proto Vehicles come out ? If the community was given a respec tomorrow I doubt a single person would skill into Swarm Launchers ...Tanks were never in a situation as bad as that .. why pick swarms when you can go Forge Guns and actually be able to target infantry as well ... Anyways I've stopped playing (Bored of Tank Spam 514) and just airing some views before I do something else

First, damage per missile has been reduced greatly since dumbfire was removed. Second, dropsuits have a lot more EHP since dumbfire was removed. And third, missile spread would make only a couple missiles hit at most. Plus slow travel speed would make them easy to avoid at anything but extreme short range. I think you could make a go of dumb fire swarms now with the following caveats: - dumb fire variant available at proto only - keep It at a four missile spread. While they are at it they need to add an anti aircraft SAM variant that only locks on aerial targets, has extended range, and faster missile speed. Probably start these at the advanced level.
