I don't know about that - my guess is that somebody at CCP got around to trying it - saw that it was broken - and then fixed it without regard for the forum warriors.

Customer: Yes hello, i would like to return this HMG because i cant see someone dying when i'm shooting them. Because of the terribad muzzle flash.
CCP: Well, sir, it fires slugs at great velocity in rapid succession. that does produce a bit of a bang on the end of the pipe and that takes someGǪ

Ccp has hotfixed muzzle flash on a weapon before for the same reason. The pics are out there , the flash is very excessive.it'd be nice to see it get taken care of
