Fire of Prometheus DUST University Ivy League 2024	Posted - 2013.12.20 03:33:00 - [1] - Quote We have had a full squad of 6 commandos!!!! And for the first time there has been 2 proto commandos in one match!!!! Also for the first time a squad of 6 commandos has won 3/3 matches they played in!!!! Each commando made a minimum of 900 WP each match. A total of 6 OBs was dropped over the course of those 3 matches. Let this be a testament that the commando is a viable unit on the battlefield!!!!! The glorious members that were a part of this near impossible undertaking are: Aero Yassavi Whot hoppened Wurm food T'orq Fire Of Prometheus (There is one more but I forget the name ) CCP, US COMMANDOS WILL NEVER BACK DOWN!!!!! All sticking with nanohives or did you try and augment your squad with rep tools, injectors and uplinks etc.... ?

Maybe it TTK went up a good bit, so having two light weapons would actually give you an edge in fights. Nonetheless, really fun squadding with commandos and I will be back for more. Meh potato potato (you know the saying) I was a logi and an assault before I went commando so I'm used to those moments were its 1 v 5 proto bears. I usually have a scanner on my suit so I can just flank the red and pop him from behind, and I plan my attack according to how many reds are present. The most important point is that it's flexibility is both the best and worst thing about it. On the one hand, you are a true wild card of a suit. I run everything from laser rifles and shotguns to plasma cannons and combat rifle combos, and in that respect a commando is King of choosing his engagement type, if not his engagement range. On the flip side, the sheer amount of sp required to make the suit even remotely viable (let's urr stay away from the word "competitive" for a bit hehe) is astronomical; I'm at 5.5mil, and I can use the commando and nothing else. I have one weapon maxed to 5, everything else is all over the place. A lack of focus on my part, to be sure, but it's an easy pitfall with this suit, because it molds itself around your play style more than any other. I've tried a little bit of everything and found that most of it can work. But the core skills you need to get that suit up and running are crazy. Shields, armour, engineering; get it all to four at the bare minimum. You'll need it. As mentioned in an earlier post, find your favourite play style and wrap the suit around it with your weapon choices. My gun game is average at best, but I have a head for trajectories and timing and primal need to make **** explode quite spectacularly, so I run a PLC and combat rifle on a cheap standard suit. Most importantly though are the uplinks; I can fit an advanced one on a standard frame and use them with intent. They are weapon in of themselves, and my commando takes on the role of shaping an assault by flanking with uplinks and harassing vehicles away from my blueberries. I'm not afraid to go CQC but I always aim to have the drop on my enemy when I do. Play a commando? Use your brain, it's a hell of a module. I'd post more but I need to test something first in game :) Dedicated Commando. So it's a good job KDR doesn't bother me, really.

I started this game as an assault, wasn't very good so went logi. Logi carried me to sniper, sniper to assault logi for a few weeks, then back to assault. Then I tried commando, mixed it with my assault tactics and sniper tactics. BAM!!!! It was a good fit. Now I run shotgun assault and made commando fits that are CQC powerhouses. I went 29/3 with a basic commando, toxin AR and basic shotgun and flux scanner. This shows that yes it is viable, but there has to be very specific situations for it to be viable. Personally, I like the +5% reload speed for weapons, it's a good bonus, but I would gladly swap it for an armour repair (like the logi bonus). It needs a better shield recharge rate first and foremost. 10hp/sec is despicable....especially for a heavy suit. My proto commando (403 shields) takes 40 seconds to go from 0 shields to full. My adv amarr logi, can go from 0 armour to 450 armour in 44 seconds. Do you see the problem(directed at ccp, not Roy)? Proud member of the Commndo 6 <3 Commando AK.0
