Does this mean that proto gear will be banned on non vet pub matches? because, the way i see it, if it aint, protobears will stay on the other games for many reasons, one of them lack of selfesteem... u know: "OOH DOOD IM SO BADASS I KILLED 71 NOOBS THIS MATCH HOHO"... u know... easy kill and stuff...

Aha, many, not all, so... your "solution"... doesn't solve quite much.

God Hates Lags wrote:They should really divide up pubs along tiers, having larger payouts for each new level of tier. That sound fair and reasonable.
But it has some issues, dust suffers from one thing, and its not much public, an average of 4000 players a day, if now it takes up to a couple minutes to get into a battle, if you split regular advanced and proto it would make them even slower.
Long ago i thought about a possible solution, say, each map, 5 ppl with the more WP are prompted with a message that they have been elected to be the distinguished users of proto suits of the match, they can accept or refuse, if they accept they can use ONLY proto gear, if they refuse another user will be elected for the provolege, if in any case, no one wants to use proto, or only 4 or 3 guys want to, the other team should also have only the same ammount of proto users.
This way you don't split the community, here you can see how much players tranquility has daily: http://eve-offline.net/?server=dust As of right now, 3508 players at 01:07 new eden's time, today's max has been 3708, as you can understand this number is quite low, first person shooters is a very competitive market, and to be honest, try to compete against battlefields and call of duty's is quite a challenge...
Dust would have more players if CCP released it on PC, where its big brother and, most important natural market is, I'm not going to enter on the argument that shooters belong to PC, this ain't the place, but I'd dare to say, as a 2 year old eve player that 2/3 of eve players would play dust on a regular basis, taking into account that most players, as I am included have +1 account, and differences on timezones, i'd say that 10000 more people would play the game.
