A few months ago, I accepted a guy from my local into my squad...
I was working on fittings while discussing the last battle with E-Rock (another Ultramarine), when the random guy from local blurted out "hey are you guys bronies"
Me, not knowing what being a "bronie" signified inquired what he meant. The guy explained it too me.
I must say, that was the hardest I had laughed in a very long time! I thought he was trolling, so I just kicked him from the squad.
I must have laughed for a good 15 minutes solid.
I later found out "bronies" are an actual thing! SMH!
I can see watching it with one's own child, for the sake of the child. I get the feeling some of you guys would watch it child or none!
Are you a Dora fan just because your child likes it?
SERIOUSLY??????
The world needs masculinity to balance femaninity! That the men of our world are inclined to be prissy little bitches who enjoy this girly garbage, you truly know society has degraded to a terrible state.

If you want to argue that you're more manly than me, please try, in the meantime, I have to go watch Rainbow Dash perform her second sonic rainboom for the 24th time.
Are there women in the military?
Bravery or cowardice does not make one masculine or feminine.
Your point is invalid.

Bravery or cowardice does not make one masculine or feminine. Your point is invalid. True so that also invalidates you comment that watching a cartoon about ponies makes you any less masculine. Both men/women/boys/girls watch cartoons. Yes many do watch cartoons, including myself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There are in fact many different gender neutral cartoons directed at audiences of different age groups, and even more still with barely visible lines drawn around the target audience such as many Anime.
The thing is, it isn't just any old gender neutral cartoon. My Little Pony has a very obvious and specific target audience, namely, prepubescent girls.
One must seriously question grown men not only being entertained by it, but, and especially, developing a "Fandom" for the show.

Masculinity: The trait of behaving in ways typical for a man to behave.
Men do not typically get into television shows which are obviously targeted toward little girls with such enthusiasm.

Every childrens cartoon has to appeal to both its target audience and the parents they know will be possibly watching it with the children. Hence why in Pixar and Disney film you see such references/ jokes that are above the general understanding of the children the cartoon is targeting.
E.G- Blatant eurocentrism in Disney's Aladin, the **** reference in the Lion King, jokes from A Bug's Life referencing Hamlet.
Children have no real concept or idea these things even exist. Just like MLP it has aspects of it designed to appeal to an older male or female audience, in this case, unexpectedly, the appeal to the male audience was greater than had been anticipated in a younger demographic.
Alternatively one could argue that the younger generations of Males in today's society are exhibiting more and more feminine behavior in general.
Warning may not be suitable for all audiences.
Lots of good points, I chose to ignore the religious undertones, but they are, admittedly there.

I personally know many, quite effeminate young women who joined the military.

I personally know many, quite effeminate young women who joined the military. Yes but that doesn't change the fact that the larger proportion of military combat personnel are male, and that the paradigm for such is embodying more masculine tenets, or tenets than men strive to achieve. I have no doubt that women are increasingly joining the militaries of nations, and are not necessarily of the masculine archetype. But it still doesn't change that most soldier are male, and historically have been so.
Oh, no argument whatsoever there. Men, by the nature of their physiology are generally more suited to the physical demands which infantry combat requires.
I'm also not arguing that masculinity should be some completely misogynistic philosophy. On the contrary, masculine men experience worries, fears, joy, pain, love, friendship, and many other facets of life, but express these much differently than our counterparts.
Truly masculine men are not properly portrayed in today's society. Instead anything "masculine" is portrayed as brutish, unfeeling, and crude, which is just not realistic.
Example: The very old saying "men don't cry". This is complete and utter garbage! Masculine men do cry, and it is perfectly natural. Masculine men, however do not typically cry for some of the minor reasons, or to the degree one would see the typical effeminate archetype do so, at the very touching, heartfelt part of the "chick flick" for instance, one will many times see the woman quite visibly sobbing, while the man simply wipes a tear or two away, blaming it on dry eyes. Stereotypical example, yes, but honest and illustrative nonetheless.
