Agreed. Particularly since composing mail on the PS3 is such a complete and awkward pain!!!
If we had mail access from a web browser, even if I was logged into DUST on the PS3, I would still go to my computer to send a mail. It would be a big buff to the Meta Game.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else, there is the Learning Coalition.

This may be the first time I have GÇ£likedGÇ¥ a wall of text for being a wall of text. But, that so clearly illustrates what is wrong with mail in DUST!

Yes, but can you log into it with a DUST account?
I use this all the time on my EVE character, but how many DUST players want to pay $15 per month and create an EVE character just for web access to in game mail?
