I think the icon is fine. The only other thing you really need to make this complete is a way to tell where you are in the larger graph after zooming in several magnifications. I see there is a nice bit of space at the bottom of your graph.

Just out of curiosity, OP, what is your intention for CCP using this mechanic? I feel you gave up a bulk of your IP rights posting this to their forums and using CCP photo assets. You've basically done a lot of free leg work for a massive mechanic that is useful in both games. Where you doing this for money? Recognition? Or just an altruistic act for the community?

That's the idea. 
Maybe it's just personal preference, but the rounded edges don't quite work with the surrounding structures. Everything else in the image uses straight edges. Try experimenting with a different look.
