Izlare Lenix wrote:5 seconds seems better than 30. And I would support this only if you get kills when you blow a dropship up. They are hard as hell to destroy now but the pilot and passengers can still escape even after you technically blew it up. That is a stupid mechanic. Even a turret will kill me if I'm using it when it explodes but a pilot can still survive an exploding, burning ship crashing to the ground if he jumps out in time. Dumb.
Also most people bail out of tanks now because tanks are stupid cheap. If the cost was increased, tanks would be used smarter, and players would try to save their precious, costly tank. Not just jump out of one on fire so they can call in a new fresh one.
Also a delay between the time you exit one vehicle and call in another vehicle might help the spam problem and encourage tankers to not bail out of a dieing tank but rather try harder to save it.
Yeah, and you can also step away from the turret. It's exactly like jumping out of your tank, but if you are in your tank and it blows up you die. Same as a freaking turret.
What is wrong with you guys????
I mean really fellas, WE HAVE ALWAYS JUMPED OUT OF OUR TANKS BEFORE THEY BLEW IF WE COULD!!!!
ALWAYS
Now suddenly, it's a problem????
Clearly you all need to get your priorities straight here.
Your problem, is the same as everyone elses. Tanks are a bit OP maybe. That's it.
"NO, you call in a tank so you HAVE to die in it". Omg people, get real. The tank itself is worth more than your suit (mine at least). So it's kinda the SAME as getting a KILL.
CRAZY crazy people.

So much flaming. This tank thing (not just the imbalance in game) is starting to get out of hand. this would kill friendly blue dots in FW and get you kicked. i substitute your theory and replace it with reality!
There have been many times, that I did manage to get out of my tank, but the explosion blew me up.

I cant jump out from my Proto dropsuit with a militia undergarment... Why should they be allowed to do so?!
Yr also not wearing 2 suits, kinda like a tanker. So if I go down, I lose my tank AND my suit.
And I don't run crap suits, because I might just have to get out and do something.

You can afford 3-4 militia tanks per battle (65k for mine with no BPOs equipped), and if you lose more than two you're doing something very wrong or the enemy just has their **** in order.
You're a good player...good enough that I think you've lost perspective on what the game's like for players in not in the upper echelons. I'd estimate that the lower half to two thirds of players in any given match get payouts around 160k to 180k...and no one's going to run an unfitted HAV, so militia fits actually cost ~80k. That's two per match, and palyers in the unskilled-average range can easily lose 3 or 4 per match. Militia is, and should be, priced for scrubs. My all militia tank fits are 65k, personally. If they're gonna be priced for scrubs, then they shouldn't be statistically similar to standard tanks. Either they cost more and retain their usefulness, or the keep the minimalist price tag, and lose out on effectiveness.
Wow, that cheap huh.
Crazy
I need to investigate this for myself.
I do agree though that the price of a milita tank needs to be increased. Given the strength of one over a normal suit, you should be paying closer to standard tank costs.
Need to caculate my proto tank fits, but it's around 500K for a good fit.
I'm thinkin a milita fit should be somewhere around 150k to 200K for a good fit. That's about one a match!

So if I go down, I lose my tank AND my suit. And I don't run crap suits, because I might just have to get out and do something. That's your choice though. You don't HAVE to wear a good suit in your tank. I basically never use a good suit in my dropship, I just use a free one. Generally speaking a good tanker should never have to get out to do anything, he should be using is tank for tank stuff. So, no one is stopping you from wearing a good suit, but it shouldn't be a balance factor, because that is your personal decision.
Fair enough, but saying that I HAVE to go down with a burning HAV is just wrong. TBH, most often I do go down with the tank, but that is only because more often than not, I can make the thing live.
Though there are times when I do jump out of a burning tank, namely to rep it in a vain effort to keep it alive. But when you destroy my tank, you cost me more than a proto suit. You don't NEED a kill, since you already got yourself one, just not technically according to the score board (though I would count WP as a confimed kill).
And any GOOD tank shouldn't hide behind their tank when at time they are needed to do something else.
Mainly in PC but some Pubs, I will phyiscally get out of my tank and hack, given there are no blueberries to steal my tank. Plus running a pro suit gives me a fighting chance outside of my tank.
Tank spam is the problem. Tankers not dying in their tanks, that is irrelevent to me when I do pay more then a suit for it. And whether I get out of the tank or go down with it, I still LOST the tank and the isk investment.
