Why? That kills one aspect of gameplay, why should I fight on foot if I don't want to? Just like why should you get in a 0SP MLT tank if you don't want to?

i'll give you props for trying.
but in all seriousness, this is not a good idea. you shouldn't restrict them for 5 minutes just because you think you have priority.
how about limiting the amount of tanks per team to 3, with bias towards higher level tanks, that way actual tankers get priority when calling in their tank.
Tell me, how exactly DOES a biscuit gain Valor?

Just no. That's like telling players "you can't run a Logi suit for the first 5 minutes" - if that's what you've skilled into, and it's your role, THAT'S YOUR ROLE. If I'm a tanker, I AM IN A TANK. I shouldn't be forced out unless my vehicle is going to die. If I CHOOSE to abandon it, or if I bail out to avoid death, then go ahead and murder me, I'm not built for infantry combat. If you put an arbitrary time limit and say that I have to run as NOT a tanker while on my tank alt, then I'm sorry, but that's missing the point of how DUST works. |

Like when Roof top forges Killed the game for vehicle pilots, or invisible swarmer with a 400m lock range and a 50m dropsuit cloak could take you down and you couldn't see them?
Im not saying this current state is fine, in fact I think tanks need to be slowed down, cost more, etc....but limiting the numbers and times they can be used is not the way to do this.
If tanks are usuable and I happen to be on a team with 4 other capable tankers, tanks will flow regardless of other limiting factors.
Infantry need no more concessions, we have had enough of them for a lifetime, vehicles are crucial parts of this game, all you need to make battles enjoyable and incredible are the wits to see this, and modification of you established strategies to achieve the same goals.
Why walk places when you can ferry your squad in a dropship? Why not land on top of the objectives, lay uplinks, move in carefully and capture the points?
Why not use terrain to your advantage to lay traps for tanks, ambush them rapidly for multiple angles, couple AV fire with the deployment of MLT tanks and take control of the map with your squad supported by a 0SP HAV?
You cant run infantry forever and use the same tired strategies you always have and expect to do well.

1. Limit tanks on the field to 5 per side (max vehicle total still 8). 2. Give AV players WP for vehicle damage. 3. Raise TTK in general on infantry against most weapons so AV infantry can survive stepping out of cover long enough to get a Swarm lock.
Now AV infantry have a valid role on the battlefield in the form of area denial, and it ACTUALLY HAS REWARDS instead of being "yes, I can keep enemy tanks pinned down, but I still run 0 kills and 0 WP unless I'm also playing a Logi role" like we currently have to deal with. Your K/D will still suffer a bit, maybe, but if you're careful, you can keep it from crashing too hard. |
