Hi Devs,
Given that everything is pretty much shutting down for at least a week, I am assuming that CCP offices are doing the same thing.

That being said, I am assuming that the monthly release schedule (between the 1st and the 10th of each month) that we've been seeing for the past few months will naturally be affected.
Does that mean that 1.8 will be a "lighter" update, as there is less time to put things into it... or that 1.8 will be later in January (or even in February)?

I believe it will be even later than January.
Last time I asked the CPM, CCP were still in the planning stage of the update, not in full production.
What usually happens is that by the time the current update gets approved, the next update is being made, so that by the time the current update is released, the next update is already going through approval.
However, after 1.7's release, there is nothing to approve, they are still thinking what is the best path for CCP to take.
Add to that production time, and then another month of approval, and at the minimum we have to wait two months.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I believe CCP want to stop the monthly production cycle, since the game is now in a good enough shape to start making bigger updates.
Some features need to be released with a lot of supporting features, so things like the market might be nearly impossible to make on a monthly basis unless you have very light content for a few months while you work on that thing. (Like 1.5, 1.6 being light, and then 1.7 is where all the stuff they were making gets released)
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

If they could fix the framerate issues before I would be so happy!
But yeah. I guess sooner or later it will be one update every 6 months like in Eve Online. I hope we get some cool features before. Like the player market. |

Think it will be small and stuff that didnt make this patch that were near final will go in.
We could get some content if its finished. CCP could have slow played 1.7 to leave a little new year cheer. |

Nah, not 6 months, game not ready for it yet.
However, Uprising 1.7 was made in 3 months, and that's how I think they'll do stuff.
