Why can't my mercs base themselves at the corporate HQ , in the system it is located in?
Yes it is a DUST system (Uphene), and in EVE there are many DUT players talking in local, so, why can't my guys come to the HQ? I pay heavily to rent the office space there.

1. It doesn't really matter, as the system doesn't determine function and for anything but local chat and inventory. 2. CCP is lazy, they don't want to spend resources on a station moving mechanic. Mostly because of reason #1.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage looks nicer.

It does in fact matter greatly for these reasons:
1. I, my corp and our alliance are there, among mercs of other corporations and it puts us at a disadvantage for recruiting.
2. All our PI is done in that area, and as DUST exapnds our plans revolve around it, we want our mercs at the HQ we pay for, not on the other side of the galaxy in Cadlari space.
They want to make the two feel more integrated with one another that is one HUGE step in that direction.

Once location actually becomes important, I'm sure CCP will add the ability to change station. Until then, however, I doubt it's going to happen. I want it to happen, but it's less important than other things at the moment.

1. This is all based on faction wars, dude, it's unlikely to recruit Caldari EVE pilots into a Gallente Corp.
2. In EVE it takes forever to get from Gallente space to Caldari space, 18 plus jumps.

1. Look, dude, the office costs 7 million ISK a month to rent at the station (and thats cheap compared to many), I pay also a real money fee 20 bucks per character in EVE and I have 3.
2. EVE side corporations get multiple hangars, in those hangars you can store for instance Orbital ammunition, BPO's to nake said Ammo etc and share among other Corp pilots. That does me no good 18 plus jumps away in the middle of Caldari space. How the hell did Gallente DUST toons generate over there anyway to begin with?!
3. To do orbitals we must be enrolled in Faction Wars as EVE pilots. If I were to base my HQ in Caldari space I'd be ripped to shreds instantly.
4. EVE side the function is already there in the CEO corp console, there is a pulldown to select HQ for every member, I select the HQ for all members one at a time and nothing changes.... they're still in Jolia somewhere with their local chat filled with local corp talk. huge unfair disadvantage.

Solution = stop recruiting EVE players with Dust 514 mercs.

I don't. I'm trying to recruit DUST mercs but my DUST character isn't even based locally to the Corp HQ!
Quote:Also, my name is Ulysses Knapse, so where you got the idea that I am called "dude" is beyond me.
Because you're making it out to be no big deal , dude, when clearly you haven't a clue what you're talking about and cannot see things EVE side, or what it is to be a CEO in an EVE alliance.

Because there is zero communication between the EVE alliance and DUST mercs unless its in a channel we create EVE side and invite them one by one, at which time there is NO voice support EVE side and the typing function in DUST is pathetic at best using ps3 controllers.
My DUST guys have no real idea what thy're fighting for except for the screenshots I email them

I've played EVE since 2010, and I've done my fair share of corporate recruitment, so why are you telling me I don't understand? There's obviously no way you could tell whether or not I've played EVE just from what I say, right? If you could, you would know I'm a big fan of EVE, and that I would have turned my nose up at Dust 514 had I not played EVE.
Also, nice quote fail. You can't seem to get it right, can you?

Actually, you are, please inform me what the problem is that we cannot simply relocate? What is it that you doggedly have not stated so far a single reason not to allow such a basic function.

Yep, late 05 here in EVE. Then you should understand how cumbersome up and moving would be when a simple relocation function would be appreciated, this is the forum for such requests is it not?
I am the recruiter for two separate corps within the alliance of 7 corps for many years now, I do not think a simple relocation function is all that big a deal to ask for as it supports something this game is sorely lacking; a point from the DUST pov.

It was never my intention to criticize this suggestion, I was just informing you of why it won't be happening soon.
