Some of the changes have been nice. The "Delete All" for notifications is a personal favorite. I am not fond about the respec for vehicle pilots with compensation to the rest of the community, but ehh...what is done is done I won't open up Pandora's box about that. Vehicle bonuses seem ok, LaVs are a little more sturdy, but not OP. Dropships have better survivability, but it is a fine line for those assault DS. Which I think is pretty balanced. All in all as far as those two are concerned good job.
Tanks are a different story, but I am sure this not news. Really, I don't see a huge issue outside the speed. The real problem with tanks is the massive AV nerf. Think about this for a minute...
Yeah...I just dropped in my Standard level tank into a match....Oh crap it just got popped by a Proto level Forge Gun in 2-3 hits. The guy's skills are most likely at Proficiency 3-5, he most likely has a 10% damage mod. If not 2 if he is running a basic heavy fit for more damage. Now, should I be angry about the Proto Forge Gun that just ruined my Standard level tank? Or Should I be upset that I expected a Standard level tank to survive a Proto level weapon designed to destroy Proto level tanks.
What really should have been looked into was not only reworking the specs for the proto level tanks and their passive buffs. Also, implementing the pilot dropsuits so vehicle pilots could use the bonuses from those suits to augment their survivability. Now when they do come out one can only imagine the unbalanced issues with a tank pilot in a proto level pilot dropsuit.
Yes, Forge Guns destroy dropships easy...but, why nerf the gun gun gun?? Set a damage type for the forge gun and give a natural resistance to that damage type to the dropships. This will give people a reason to not just automatically SP to a Forge for AV over Swarms which are nerffed to all hell at the moment anyway. (FG blast radius was a good change though.)
AV nades....ok, SO not only do they bounce of the side of vehicles more times then I can count, but I could not kill a Standard level tank with 3 Packed AVs acceptable. I could not kill a standard level tank with 3 Advanced AVs still acceptable...kinda. I now can not kill a standard level tank with 3 Proto packed AVs......Is there any reason why??????

FW Friendly fire has not been a huge issue for me. but, I am sure it is broken. I think FF players should be tagged for a 48 hour period from their first offence. (An offence being a team kill that a member voted for a punishment.) If you get 3 of these in that 48 hour period you will be banned for 24 hours. I don't think 24 hours is too long of a ban for TKers. But accidents happen. OR, if you TK like 5 people in a row, then you get kicked and banned for the 24 hours. Hey, if you are spamming mass driver rounds in a group that has your own people or blowing up half a squad with a remote explosive, then get outta my FW.
As for killing yourself, well it should be more like if you kill yourself like 3 times in a row or if you suicide more then 5 times in one match. Then you get banned for the 24 hours.
I was involved in the small round table before the major changes to them were made. Even though they were already set in stone at the time it was nice to get some information from the Dev's on subjects such as these. This should be done more often. Just with people who don't try to speak as if they represent the entire Eve/Dust community lol. Anyway, I like what you guys did with them, It can be tweaked with a bit, but you guys are on the right track. More incentive for Eve pilots. WH space and Incursions are just too profitable. FW in Eve is too small. They need shinny.

@ CCP Dust 514 Crew
I have been an Eve player for years now, I have enjoyed CCP's work and involvement with the community for a very long while. I wish I could be more involved myself with this amazing universe CCP has created. I can't imagine how much work goes into your daily lives and how much of yourselves you put into this game. Thank you so very much for everything that you do.
However, if this were Eve I am 100% sure there would have been all out riots / protests over the development direction this game is currently in. Of course I know nothing about the internal structure of what is being done, but as a consumer looking in. The sights I am seeing are not encouraging.
Work Smarter not Harder CCP....you guys are messing up your own game with these over the top major changes, screwing half your community and not fully testing your product before you release it and I mean these patch builds. It really isn't difficult to use logic and reason. You are too focused on your huge mathematical equations. Just simplify. Take the tank and drop it into a test server and have other devs try and kill it with AV. You would have realised your mistakes in seconds.
With layoffs happening all over I would expect you guys to be fighting tooth and nail for your jobs. Keep in mind, there are tons of super genius programing nerds out there that would love to land their dream job for a gaming company and hit the ground running. With what I am seeing, you guys might want to not forget that from bottom to the tippity top, everyone is replaceable.

while I don't agree with everything..... mainly the FW ban... I don't think there should be any bans in new eden unless its by CCP for doing some really messed up stuff like exploiting or hacking, I must say, this is the most constructive post on 1.7 Ive seen yet.
It makes TONS of sense!
I hope you listen to this guy CCP, the honesty and accuracy of this post has my eyes moist with the tears of truth.

Guys, I would like some correspondence from you guys. Yes, I am no one to you, but I have spent a very large part of my time trying to help your new players understand the game better and provide content where there is none. Dennie gets a lot of credit and I think the guy is great. But, while he was spending months discussing things with you guys on Twitter, Facebook and through emails. I was taking care of the Corporation and the 40+ new players that applied every single day for months. Credit where credit is due. There would be a lot less people playing without corporations like D-Uni out there. Yes you can get into a corp and get trained, but not many major corps pick up people fresh out of academy.
We have provided as much information and feedback from the new player community then any other organization in the game. You all know this. I know for a fact Dennie bugged the crap out of you guys for many months with information, feedback and results from our R&D.
So, it is really your choice. Sweep aside an advocate who has spent countless hours running lectures and informing your dwindling influx of new players and encouraging many veteran players to hold on to the idea that things will get better in time.
I still have hope. Make me a believer again....or ignore this....and loose just another number in your calculations.

you have done an amazing amount for d uni true.... and have been scorned for it unjustly, by many who only had their own interests in mind over the greater good of corp and community.
and while you may be to diplomacy what a bull is to a china shop, I believe your heart has always been in the right place and for that you have my respect, and to boot youre almost as good as me at dust
when you put your mind to something you get it done successfully and you're plans have given many new players excellent training...ccp would do well to listen to you because you understand this game well.
however I wouldn't expect ccp to say much to you in these forms unless you make a puff post that ccp can respond to with either a vague or troll remark...I cant think of to many threads where they say much of anything, unless it's their own thread.
the only exception to this are threads with like 60+ pages and usually months old, and the serious reply begins with something along the lines of "this thread is long overdue for a response...."
that being said I hope they prove me wrong....they certainly have you to thank for a major behind the scenes contributor to this community.

@ CPP
Do you think ignoring people when they are reaching out to you is a good thing? From what I have seen the majority of CCP personal that engage the consumers show extreme favoritism to a very select and small few. A good majority of those few who rarely play if play at all anymore.
How is feedback from people who are not on the game regularly everyday grinding it out getting attention over people who are grass roots? I am personally far from expecting any response from a Dev or any correspondence of any form. I see more interest in social networking images then focus on the game in which provides you such status.
In a few months a game comes to open beta. A game that may take the very foundation of what you have promised and deliver. It is beyond me what that game will do to this branch of the franchise. You have lost your way, and have lost my faith in this company's ability to deliver. It makes me very sad to say that when that game comes to open beta, I will be focusing my attention there...With no real intention of returning unless change is made.

I assume you are talking about Destiny. I read a 14 page preview in Game Informer and I got to say, it looks like everything I ever hoped Dust would be. From competitive play to the pve. With Halo's smooth gameplay. From what I read it looks amazing. I suggest CCP read that article and take notes.

Lolz only D-Uni members have posted here. Does anyone really care anymore? A lot of the player base has little to no patience anymore. I gotta say that this thread, albeit with VERY good info that CCP should have read by now, falls on deaf ears. The community is more interested in trolling each other over tanks, AV, and the occasional thread that actually raises concerns in gameplay.
I don't even get why CCP made Eve Valkeryie. With Dust needing all the help in the world right now, it just seems CCP is slowly letting Dust....well.....wither away slowly.

Seymour. Get that pun outta here. No one likes those kind of puns. The Doomsday Puns. Also, it wasn't very punny. No? Your right, that was low. God, when was that one invented? It shouldn't have been. This entire half-paragraph was just me having fun with the different font changer things.
Aaaanyways. CCP rarely reads Request/Feedback. No idea why. Maybe if we give them a dollar? I'd like to see some change to FW FF especially. No bans, maybe just standling loss (Currently, you don't lose standing until actually banned. Every TK should equal -50 Standing.
Tanks... I don't know how I feel about them. I really enjoy running around with them, and I like how I rarely ever see tanks fighting infantry unless there are no other tanks on the field. But the huge tank battles I see, where it's tank VS. tank and the infantry are killing other infantry, it's really cool. Trailer-Worthy material. But it's true that AV is now about as useful as a MLT dropship flying 500m above the battlefield with no mCRU... I believe one of the Learning Coalition founders suggested a slight buff to range, and a slight buff to damage. Numbers were.... -Range = 200m -Damage = 250 per missile Something like that.
ATM, Forge Guns do have a damage type, and that would be Kinetic. Dropships, I think, should have a resistance to Kinetic damage, because IIRC, when you bump into objects/installations/etc. it also counts it as Kinetic damage. Having a resistance to that stuff will absolutely help newbies fly better, and generally make dropships more fun.
Scout... Still UP. I want a fix in 1.8, but this is a 1.7 discussion, so I'll leave that out of this.
Rifles and stuff. Good good good. I hate the new rifles, because they destroy armor and have no real downside, but I let it slide because Shields have been taking a beating lately, and they need a weapon to stand a chance VS. us Gallente.
I think that's it. Also, looked at Destiny, and if I had a PS4, I'd be immedately purging DUST from my memory so I could enjoy other games without feeding into my addiction.

I noticed that almost every Dust interview vid I watched they were forcing a product concept. basically selling us the idea of its potential.
Just watch this video of this guy talking about Destiny...he seems so genuinely happy and not trying to sell us anything at all.

Yea, Destiny does look pretty great, but I have no idea if I'd really quit DUST for it, because, and I hate to say it: I'm a sucker! They ARE trying to sell the concept of this game, and hell, it's working for me! But I'll probably purchase Destiny as a casual game and as a treat to myself, because let's face it. It's nice to play a finished product every once in a while.

Remember though that newbies (No matter how ridiculous it may seem) really do enjoy this game. I watch videos of newbies playing this game, and they're having such a blast, and all I can think is "I used to be like you. So happy, and full of life". Check out MASSIVE gaming for example. I have yet to watch one of his videos where he isn't having a bunch of fun. The game is like a paradise to some of these guys, getting to try all the suits, roles, weapons, etc. I remember when I first started playing, WAY back when, and I was just having a lot of fun, even if I WAS super bad. The very first suit I spawned in, the Sentinel BPO, I managed to blow up an RDV while I was shooting at the MCC.
[Has idea for thread]
Ok, anyways, my point is that even though us vets think the game is bad, there ARE, as crazy as it seems, newbies that thoroughly enjoy this game. But I'm not against CCP working harder to please the players. Even if they didn't listen to our suggestions, but read them and let us know that they WERE looking at what we had to say, it'd almost be like renewed hope. For me, at least.

I don't think the game is bad. I like this game a lot. I like the idea of what this game is and will be. However, I do not like the way this game is currently going in its development. We are in store for more and more rebalancing and fix patches. There is not very much in the pipes as far as expansion of the game into new content which is desperately needs.
Like I said in my tweets, Rebalancing and bug fixes should be minor things. Not full blown patches and these major game changes that we are experiencing now. The Idea that these major changes are made only to be so untested and unbalanced that they spend entire other patches reworking the mistakes they made with the pervious ones. It is a vicious cycle that ends with very minimal progress as far as the game is concerned.

Right. Rebalancing should be something smaller, I agree, but I think something they also need to do is maybe stop with the monthly patches, and make, I dunno, quarterly patches? Every 3 months there's a patch? Or do only ever 6 months? Currently, they spend X amount of time coding, leaving X amount of time testing and re-working the things they just coded, all of this fitting into the time span of a month, give or take a few days. It's not really a wonderful system, and is almost guaranteeing coding mishaps, bugs, FoTMs, and general slip-ups.
Also, content. ATM, the thing that they are talking more about is just plain adding content. And I'm all for it, don't get me wrong, but ever since Uprising started, with all it's bugs and glitches, and those Duvolle Tacs, I was saying "I don't care how much CONTENT you release, as much as I care about the current content that you fix". The lastest patches, like 1.3-1.6, I didn't care about it being small or boring, because I saw that they fixed some of the worst bugs in the game, and even brought the nerf hammer to the biggest game-breaker of all time. And that's all that I, a "valued" consumer that has been playing since early beta, really want. I want them to FIX the current content before moving on to the new releases. Of course, they shouldn't do any major rebalancing on any infantry gear until we have all of our suits, and/or the weapons that were announced in Open Beta (Ion Pistol, Bolt Pistol, Precision Rifle, etc).
