If you have an account full of PI, you can probably PLEX for less in-game time than mining.

imagine it's like an RV with a car in tow. You'll move around with a big ol' slow ship, holding a good deal of stuff, but park it occasionally and go around the immediate area in the car, taking only what you need. (Both to avoid losing it, and because you won't have nearly the cargo space.)

Personally, the first thing to define then is your preferred rules of engagement. There are good corps/areas to join for each of the different playstyles, but mismatching them just causes dissatisfying play time.

Actually, buying these things at razor thing profits and moving them out to where they'd be more likely used can get you profits.
Drones and ammos in mission hubs, in particular. Since they removed quality(was that the stat?) from NPC corp agents, the mission workload has spread out a bit, but you can still find the hotspots. (Use Dotlan maps to find concentrations of npc killing.)
