We hadn't even restocked our hangars from the last war. TSOLE didn't bring very much on the eve side, but we still lose ships to the occasional pirate gang and whatnot. The only other alliance to our knowledge that had any Eve support was headed up by a guy I flew with quite a bit two years ago, so hostilities had been resolved on the Dust side of things and I didn't have to worry about that Falcon decloaking on me anymore.
Up to this point I hadn't had to ask for help in Molden Heath. It's a dead region. There's no reason to go there. Bosena is a poor-man's Old Man Star or Tama. They never sensor boost, so the entry system isn't an issue. It's kind of like living in the country. Takes a long time to get anywhere and buy anything, but you can **** off your back porch and no one will care.
Har1equin says "All of our districts just got attacked. O.H. just started the war." I asked "Are they good?" He replied "Yes. No question. This will be a real fight. Whoever wins will own Molden Heath."
Lenny comes across in a leadership chatroom talking about all of DDB's districts being attacked.
Four minutes later every district that could be attacked was. ...
The initial round of attacks were brutal. Districts were lost, and people died. There was betrayal and sabotage. All things pretty well expected considering what was at stake.
Through the weekend the fights went from normal, to weird. Someone brought two Ravens and a Crow to a satellite. That's just a weird thing to see in low-sec. I can't imagine how they got lucky enough to travel to their destination safely. By the end of the weekend the local pirate gang was giving me problems. Bringing Ishtars with sentry drones. I've got a counter to most everything, sentry drones aren't really something i'm equipped to deal with in my tier-1 all-go-no-quit Maulus.
Across leadership chat: Kujo says: "Can you get more Renegades down here?" And I say: "Why?" Kujo says: "Rumor has it they've paid someone to help them out on the EVE side." "I'll believe that when I see it." I reply. Kujo says: "But if they hire someone, can you get more Renegades down here?" "I think we'll be fine." Is where I leave it.
In Comms: Har1equin asks: "I heard that too. I heard they hired somebody." "Who?" I ask. "I don't know. How much do you think they'd have to pay?" I answer: "Really, not very much. A couple of bil will get people to do almost anything for a few days. It doesn't sound like much money, but it's nice to have something else to do sometimes. I think it's more likely they'll pay someone who doesn't know how to fight." "If they do bring a fleet, can we get Renegades down here?" Har1equin asks. To which I reply: "I'll contact Johnnny Freedom tonight. If he logs back in, we'll be fine."

PSN Message to MAD__MAN:
"I'd like to see you in my chambers"
"How's Dust?" He asks. "Getting better. Don't play it yet. There's nothing to fly. How you been?" I say. "Busy, busy. But it's about to get easier and it's wintertime, so what's up? "Killmails are being introduced on Tuesday. The Renegades need to have more orbital bombardment killmails than any alliance in the game. I've got a handful of Dust guys who are learning to fly. Some of them are about to finish their navigation requirements. 4th Pep is out getting solo's on the regular. But I need your help. They're dropping ishkur's on me." "I thought Pep would stick with it. He's tenacious." "He was listening, it turns out. He just finished prop jamming 5 and he's working on high-speed maneuvering 5 now." "Is he?" Johnnny muses. "Yeah. And I moved the corp hangar down to Molden Heath. All you need to do is log in."
...
For a couple of days nothing happened.
On Tuesday killmails were introduced indeed. This was my first one: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=20900507 With killmails come fleets, boys and girls. That's a fact. If you're trying to get a fleet started, go solo somebody and post that killmail in your chatrooms. People will come running.
With killmails also comes competition.
...
The next day I lost 400 million. Lost a rapier to a 2005 Dominix. Lost another Rapier to three Stilletto's with Ishtar and Scythe Support. But Har1equin was number two on the alliance killboard. And that's good advertisement.
But I was not able to do my job effectively. For at least a handful of battles the enemy dropped orbitals on my soldiers. Later in the night we fought that Dominix again and the damned thing must have had 5 warp core stabs. I swear we had 4 stable points on that battleship.
...
The War raged on the ground. The War raged in the sky. By Friday I had 4 good pilots in Molden Heath helping me get kills. By Monday I had 6 guys with absolutely no Dust interest at all in my fleet, talking to dust players on district/team chat and in their pc battle chatrooms dropping orbitals and talking ****.
It has begun, and the Renegades are well represented in Molden Heath. I pray to the eve gods that I can continue to get fights in Molden Heath and get my alliance ready for whatever craziness ccp has in mind for me.
I started playing Dust 2.5 years ago. I worked hard to put myself in the position to do this. If you're going to bring a fight to Molden Heath then you're bringing a fleet to fight me, and mine.
Make me bring a one-hundred man fleet to Molden Heath. I dare you.
