I find it highly amusing how reliant people are on scanners. I see "Scan attempt prevented", turn around, and see a Gal Logi just pass me by with his scanner up.
Like really, we passed each other up and there was all the time in the world to identify friend/foe.
He simply didn't see me.
And this happened 5 times in the same match with that same logi. Also happened with an Assault.
I am rather amused.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Scanner reliance was a buff to Scouts. Scouts need every buff they can get.

It truly is amusing. However, i need to dedicate both low slots to hit below 28. Maybe grabbing Scout III would be preferable?

Considering my logistics suit is just below the passive scan of other mediums I'm amazed at how often they run right past me. People need to learn to look.

Never even used a scanner. Don't really see the point. I mean, I've got eyes to see with.
I might try them out if the upcoming cloaking device rumors are true, but until then I don't need them. |

I rely on them with my life (which isn't that important when you're a cloned soldier).
PS. Funny you say this - I always stand near but you don't seem to notice.

PS. Funny you say this - I always stand near but you don't seem to notice. That just means I'm focused on something else. Often I do see, but I know that I won't have time to turn around so I run for the nearest cover to give myself a bit of time.

I think, at least on the scout suit that relies on scanning and dampening, that if they reject a scan attempt that it should show them where the person is scanning from within a 10m radius.

those flashlights do start to get annoying after a while
although ive taken to using the std variant on a mlt suit just to annoy the other team with the you have been scanned text...
before those flashlights become famous. i was more invisible in my cheap mlt suit than i am now. |

i agree. i'll literally walk right in front of an enemy and they just walk right past me with their scanner up.
you're just like "how the hell...aahh whatever." and proceed to gun their ass down.
Tell me, how exactly DOES a biscuit gain Valor?

Scout 3 + Sensor Dampening 3 will get you below 36dB which will allow you to hide from the Advanced Quantum scanner which is by far the most common Active Scanner being used. Then you can use your lows for other stuff.

It's not impossible to run past a red dot when your helmet is welded to your shoulders.
Normal soldiers would turn their heads to scan the area, but we have to laboriously pivot our whole body to scan with our eyes, and that means not traveling in a straight line.
That breeds a reliance on the radar screen. |

As a logi with a scanner, I never really end up trusting the damn thing. I use it mostly for the team and easy wp. As someone who works in the tech field, I expect every piece of machinery to fail. Just look at your toaster and that imaginary brown setting that NONE of them have. It's burnt or nothing.
