The problem is there is no true clear difference in a standard or a proto suit. If I use proto I should last longer than 2 seconds . Suit and there roles are so messed up there is no use even trying to debate what is wrong, for it is all wrong.

proto doesn't prove that you have skill... it only proves that you have a suit that makes you live longer and equip better stuff.
wanna know why i don't have proto suits?
its because i don't need them, also i don't have any skils into proto suits. i have proto weapons and some proto gear but not suits.
i prefer it this way because:
1. i die more when using proto suits
2. i die less using STD and ADV suits and equipement
3. lesser tier = more affordable and don't go isk negative from dieing 2-4 times
4. proto suits for you are just something to show off in the warbarge for me

I LOVE basic and advanced gear Its SOOOO much cheaper. And requires SKILL, for some its... lets just say backpedaling is not a skill. I have proto knives and shotty. Would love a Logi or two.XD

ironically but totally necessary I am using another account that is trained into basic amarr proto so i can get used to and be more useful in proto gear for my own purposes and reasons

Nothing wrong with that. I'm just talking about the protos that have crap tactics but think there awesome due to the gear, vs. the people that don't or can't afford proto gear with tactics and maturity.

i find it funny cuz i earned that proto through passive while i actively use this main for everything in the game instead of focusing on 1 area.
my other account is all 100% pure amarr
- lvl 5 basic amarr
- lvl 4 amarr assault
- lvl 1 amarr logi
- lvl 5 proto sr
- lvl 3 pro.
- lvl 2 reload and ammo

The original poster has a point really, I mean lifespan on average can be judged in nanoseconds, what is the point of armor exactly? I'd rather run around naked at warp speed with a gun instead.
Clearly, its absurd how fast you die.
I mean come on theres times im scanned while the screen is still black and I haven't jumped out of the MCC yet!
I've heard the sound of an orbital on the way down and landed dead. Those are the times I log out instantly and leave for a week. Why do I try to improve my stats so hard when they get ruined by idiocy like that I can do nothing about.

pro gear shouldn't make you invincible... and it doesn't. i pull out my boundless specialist once in a whole for fun but i usually stomp in my 5k suit.
