They were.....poorly implemented the first time around but since they're gone for now it's time for suggestions/speculation no?

They should be used for transporting or for, you know, scouting. They're not meant to be front-line assault, that's for sure. The lack of armor and protection for everyone in it, especially the gunner, makes it a bit of a pain to use for the front-line. I could see a MAV being an infantry killer, but not LAV. LAVs are scary with a competent gunner and driver though.

Then you can run people over without them knowing what hit them 
Doesnt matter in Dust 514: PC. FW Standing. Tanking Type. Other mods than DMG or HP.
Does matter in Dust 514: Rifles.

They should be faster than these faster-than-sonic-on-a-bad-day tanks with above ^^ cloaking mod (excellent idea) and immune to scanners of course. Only scouts can get in them of course. And a silence turret for on-the-go assassination.XD

SLAVs need to be what scout dropsuits need to be: Debuff specialists, kiting, tackling and infiltration. Imagine a badass marauder getting ready to wreck your whole squad, but suddenly a SLAV decloaks, scrambles it to deactivate modules, webs it so it can't run away and your squad proceeds to alpha the **** out of it with AV grenades.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

i said tons the whole idea of the scout LAV is bad since the normal one fills it nicely. people who want the scout lav really want a spec ops lavs or a single person speeder so no one steals their vehicle.*couch* vehicle locks*cough*
so in general they want a lav with same or greater defenses and ewar.
personally i would like one that destroys infantry equipment with emp burst for hunting down uplinks and stuff. i would go no less then 20m radius on it thou as to counter that uplink spam that is so popular.

Give scout LAVs the LAV model we use now, and enclose the regular LAVs so you can't pop the driver at all, and give the gunner armor so he can't be shot as easily. Increase SLAV speed. |

When I used the SLAV I solely used it for, well, Scouting, so yes, it cannot be a frontline vehicle. I found it fairly successful with an Active Scanner for use whilst anti-sniping in my trusty scout with Ishukone NK's  , as it was very agile. So definitely something related to the outer edges of the battlefield.
On the note of an inbuilt CRU, how about making it racial? As an example, the Abron could have the CRU, whereas the Callisto could have an inbuilt Scanner, though both could be fitted with either module with enough PG/CPU leftover for anything else. Why not increase the turret rotation speed too, since the vehicle is generally speaking more nimble.
So yeah. Should still be a squidgy little thing but actually setup to encourage more scouting usage.
