I'm sure CCP will say something about tanks in the future, tweak things here and there. This is a total reworking of tanks and is not the final product.
Tanks kill tanks and instillations are serious business as well. Maybe the purpose of 1.7 is to collect data on instillations and Tank vs tank encounters.

Hypocritical = infantry forces vehicle changes on CCP, CCP changes vehicle how they'd like them to be, infantry isn't happy with the changes.

Probably not intended. They might have expected more vehicle usage as a whole, but tanks are way more fun to use than any other vehicle. Dropships are still a bit underwhelming and LAVs serve no real purpose nor utility to warrant bringing one in over a tank.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Personaly while I do insta kill a few of you foot sloggers every match, i honestly have to say that i speend far more of my time, Looking for, killing or running away from other tanks, I hardly even notic or care about you little ants scurrying around my tank as i duke it out is some of the most epic tank fights i have ever had.
And if some blaster soma starts killing a bunch of you on an opbjective, I expect a thank you when i run by and 3 shot him with my rail tank. |

my other job is psycological warfare, i can make a red team terrified of walking down certain corridors like nobody else.
i still kill tanks in hilarious ways, most tankers are new and arnt very good at watching their own ass :P aproch from the rear. |

Takes three shots for any fitting unless you're stacking damage mods.
