If I know a secret about someone or something, can I extort ISK out of players and not get in trouble from CCP?
I have so many secrets, I am busting at the seams. I have one that would probably have 1/4 of the player quit. I spend most of my time in game finding things that no one else would even bother to look for. Secrets about high player spies.
Facebook for instance offers users REAL cash $500 I think for finding bugs in their system. I have sent in several serious issues and barely got a thanks. Three were patched quick. I don't need the real cash but would like in games items for wasting my time reporting bugs. Some type of reward. Maybe a good Samaritan dropsuit?

im pretty much certain that extorting people in game is allowed, as last i checked its allowed in eve, but only for in game currencies
i say go for it, add to the new eden metagame

Typically CCP's take on fraud and extortion is that it's ok as long as everything is entirely in-game. Ie: if you've got dirt on someone's dealings in management of a corp that, if released, could cause drama then that would typically be legal. If you were going to spread dirt about someone's real life, that's out of bounds.
If it comes to having evidence of someone using exploits...I'm not sure. |

See, you kind of have it wrong. Extortion only work when the person you're extorting knows the dirt, but no one else has a clue yet.

lol.... you have 0 math skills.... of course i want to make some money out of it. but rwarding players with more then they put in is not a scam.... and check it out if i would have had 30 players buy tickets i would have jacked up the pot. at this point theres only like 9 tickets out which is like a 1/3 chance to win. 9 @ 250,000= 2,250,000 =(what i make)..... the pot total was 3,000,000.....BOOM! to your dome piece.

I don't think you can't sell information about exploits in the game (glitches/hacks/ect).
you can sell corporate secrets however (who is a SPAI, what one corp is planning against another, ect).
