First off, our guys are having a pile of fun running FW matches with our pilots.
Never before have alliance wide ops been so integrated between the two games, which is really cool.
Downside of this is mercs going broke. We have many guys who are down to their cheap fits after only a few days of combat.
The alliance is running Caldari militia, so our mercs run Caldari contracts, not all of us use Caldari gear though. I run Minmatar gear for example. Some odds and ends I can get from the Caldari LP store, but the big expenses, suits and weapons are either isk or running other factions on the side.
Our pilots are making bank on the orbitals though, so they are really keen to help.
We have started subsidizing our mercs who run Caldari contracts in order to keep pushing, but we cannot keep this up indefinitely. Operating in FW is piles of fun, but our mercs are operating at a loss, while our pilots are making fat stacks of cash.
Several hundreds of millions some pilots inform me, since the new strike mechanics have come into play.
Many of our pilots have made offers to donate isk to the corp, but we all know how that works.
From the perspective of running corp ops, and alliance integration, I would like to see FW be a sustainable activity for the majority of our mercs. Shortly we will be undermanned on FW contracts because our guys need to make some isk.
Thoughts / comments / concerns / idea / etc.

The way I have been doing this is running a couple of dom matches for every few faction contracts, I also have been running some Minmatar contracts to help build some LP there too since I also run Minmatar gear and running that doesn't affect our standing with Caldari.
So my proposal:
3 Caldari contracts
2 Pub matches
1 various other contract for LP if needed for gear
This pumps LP for state gear, it also pumps isk for various other trinkets as well as giving some cash infusion into corp for taxes. |

This, of course, wouldn't be as much as an issue if the PVP market was in place (and stable). Loads of LP doesn't mean squad it you can't use it or convert it to ISK. There needs to be a temporary solution until the PVP market comes to town. Maybe just give us a temporary resource that exchanges LP for isk? |

I've managed to keep my isk burn pretty low by using BPO suits and nothing higher than STD gear most of the time, treating ADV as if it were PRO in a pub match. ie: only pulling out anything slightly fancy if I can reliably expect to get revived if I die. But I'm still down a couple million isk since 1.7 deployed, and I only spent one evening mostly running pub matches because of le FW ban. I'm filthy rich by merc standards though, and a lot of people seem to not have more than 10 million isk total. I have to treat pub matches fairly similarly though if I want to resupply my isk. It isn't unusual to end a match and only profit by 100k or so after you restock the suits you lost.
The player market is going to be key to making FW more sustainable. Grind the LP and sell it to people who grind isk or have so much of it they'd rather get to shooting people in the face with the spicy stuff rather than spend time earning it in the first place. |

They should just add the Dust wide player market. They need to do this eventually if they plan on merging markets with Eve Online. And it would really solve many of our problems. Because then you could just sell the salvage. Very often you get vehicles or Proto gear. Enough to keep you running. |
