Keep that wheel turning bro. this post was pointless. just stop. OP has a point. these idiots blame their bad gun game and lack of situational awareness on guns being OP. don't protect them. they need to learn they just suck at shooting. It also trivializes the 1 second TTK in most cases, which is just sad. Math exists, and when I watch most top players going only for body shots and coming out on top, I know that gun game is certainly not the issue. So, my post stands.
This man speaks truth. The sad truth is that this game doesn't require gun game. With less than a second TTK and aim assist all you have to do is pull the trigger. Combat and Rail rifles are just the new FOTM. It's CCP company policy to nerf it after a few patches. Just wait, it's going to happen.

If you want to be able to eat round after round of bullets and survive skill into a heavy suit. I think TTK is on point and if you feel this is a twitch shooter now pop COD for a day then come back, you'll see what a real twitch shooter is and realize TTK isn't that bad.
Aww, you must be new here, so I'll go easy on ya. I have been a dedicated HMG user since closed beta, early codex to be exact. In that time, never once have I specced into light or medium frame suits. Thats right, even now I have close to 20m SP and save for maybe 2 million every point of it is in the heavy frame. This includes core skills and skills for armor repping, etc... Do you know what the real difference between the heavy and medium frame? The heavy frame gives you enough time to say oh sh!t before you die.

I am a pretty average player so I went Logistics early just so I could contribute more to my team and help compensate my payouts because I rarely rack up a lot of kills. I have good games and bad.
Others I know who have mediocre gun game went into vehicles or Heavy class or sniping.
Bottom-line is no amount of nerfing, buffing, removing or including is going make much of a difference. The good players will adapt and remain good, the mediocre players will remain mediocre and the bad players will still be bad players. Dem's the breaks.
I just wish the Community stopped putting so much pressure out there on complete balance, when there is some much still missing in the game. We did it with dropsuits, even though all racial variants are not in-game. We do it with weapons, constantly even though all racial variants are not in-game. We do it with vehicles, even though all racial variants are not in-game.
Wouldn't it be more productive if we all just kept pushing for content, instead of continuously distracting the game's development with balance issues that are never going to be right until all the base weapons, gear and vehicles can be utilized in combat. If we put our collective bitching into demands for all racial variants items, more maps and for god's sake more game modes, I for one would be a lot happier with the progress of Dust 514. Because right now, balance is pretty much a waste of time. It changes every Update and every time something else is removed or introduced into the game.
No. They need to fix the game before anything else. Period. And LOL at your statement that heavy class takes less gun game than others. Haven't you heard? the HMG is LASER accurate, which means that If my one pixel of fire isn't touching you, I'm not hitting you. The game is broken, period.

That's hilarious again people lets use tactics here. I occasionaly run a BPO heavy with STD HMG and the ONLY time I die is when I'm doing something stupid like running around in the open or I run into a bigger badder heavy with actual skills in his suit. That or grenade spam :) Sentinel means watch tower, IE stand in one ******* place and watch it. You want to run around? Skill into Scout or Assault. Its not my fault you can't move too well, every map has one location that is specifically for heavies. Look around and figure it out.
Lmao. I love it when people fit a militia heavy suit and use it a couple times and think they know everything there is to know about a heavy. According to your logic, if a heavy is supposed to sit in one spot the whole match then logis would only be able to fit a sidearm and modules, scouts would be limited to sniper rifles and scan tools, and the only people you would see pushing the objective are assault suits with logi's behind them.
Have you ever played eve, or even watched someone play it? Did you know that you can fit a single ship multiple different ways to serve different purposes? Dust is no different. While dust is based around balance and diversity (while CCP is horribly failing at this, it is the main purpose.) I could fit 4 proto kin kats and run almost as fast as a scout, if I wanted to. Here's a good idea, spend 20 million SP into the heavy and then tell me how you feel about it, being out DPS'd by weapons that on paper have less than you do, but seemingly makes no difference on the battlefield. Do yourself a favor and try to educate yourself a little bit more before you look anymore like a fool.

Just because I have a different opinion than you doesn't make me a noob. It's the way the game is designed. If you speed tank your proto heavy you have a glass canon that is still blind as **** passively, has no equipment slots and a giant hit box, not to mention you're a huge ******* red dot visible to everyone. Hrm... lets see what should I do run around and hack objectives or stand at one and defend a small area where I can see what's coming? You chose the suit, if you choose to play a style that isn't necessarily the best fit for that suit then you shouldn't get on the forums and ***** about TTK. You probably try to play the heavy like an assault suit and get repeatedly raped out in the open.
lol. Your scrubby is showing. Have you seen any of the artwork from CCP on this game? They show you heavy suits with sniper rifles and laser rifles, and you're going to tell me they "designed" the heavy to camp in a corner? If they designed it like that why on earth would they release art like that, or even let the heavy fit light weapons in the first place? Just because you have an opinion doesn't make it right, just the same as mine but what I'm telling you right now is that your opinion of the way CCP is building this game is wrong.

Mike Ox Bigger wrote:Just using logic here guys why's that so hard to see? The heavy suit is limited in passive scan, limited in speed, has a huge hit box, you can't lay any equipment so can't infiltrate somewhere with a droplink or a scan. If you only play heavy it just makes more sense to stand in one area and play defense. You mentioned speed tanking the heavy but you still have no strafe speed and that giant hit box. It just makes sense...
I also don't think TTK is an issue. It's not as bad as COD, the only time you die instantly is if you're standing completely still and every bullet is hitting you. Plus there's plenty of times two or three guys are shooting you and you probably don't realize it. There's plenty of times I'm battling a AR and get eaten up real fast then I look at the kill feed and see a Sniper killed me or that the AR did very little damage so something else was hitting me too.
I think TTK is fine and I think most heavies don't play their suit the most effective way. That's my opinion call me a scrub after we play.
At this point in time, with all of it's limitations, there is no real way to effectively play a heavy. But I will tell you that sitting in a corner is probably the least effective. Sure, you might not die a lot, but you're also setting yourself up for an easy ambush, since everyone and their grandma is running a scanner. The most effective way to play a heavy is to keep moving, period. Sure you don't move fast, but if you move a lot and stay behind cover you become much more unpredictable as to where you'll be next. Running out in the open doesn't happen very often if you know how to use the hills and surrounding buildings as good cover. Having a lot of HP is nice too but for me having lower HP with higher reps makes me much more useful in the moment. Defending a point or assaulting one makes no difference as a heavy, you still die the same either way.

That isn't coming from running a BPO heavy occasionally. This is probably hundreds of hours of testing builds and learning maps and investing in the wrong skills and whatnot. The heavy and the scout have probably the steepest learning curve of all the frames, so when people say it's EZ mode they've either never touched it or did okay a few matches and think they know everything.
We have entirely different views on how heavies should run. I believe a good heavy relies upon a good logi. I play a logi not a medic but an infiltrator logi. Ups, hives, n scan. When I do run the BPO heavy I have, I make sure that I already have hives and a uplink down in that area and sometimes I'll have my buddy who's a dedicated medic with me. We stick to areas that are setup for camping. Basically the enclosed points. I have a lot of success that way with a less than 20k heavy suit with the main cost being core locus grenades. Another problem that a lot of new people need to work on is defense in general. So many times a team will have the lead and instead of just playing defense they lose an objective by trying to push another. Sometimes I say **** it this is my house and no one is coming in it and just dedicate myself to one area.
I'm not saying that it's bad to use a heavy to defend a point, I do it every time I play in PC. What I'm saying is that is wrong to think that a heavy should be limited to just that. A heavy will always benefit from having a good logi bro but no other class has to depend on one all the time so why should the heavy? If I equipped 4 complex armor reppers I would have almost 25 hp armor regen a second. just think about that, in 4 seconds I would have 100 armor repped. any heavy that knows how to use cover can easily stay hidden that long, I can run and stay hidden for over 10 if I had too, plenty of time to regen armor, and it keeps me in the fight longer too. So if I can do that why should I have to have a logi up my ass the whole game? Sure, I could build a suit specifically designed around having a logi with me and have 1000 armor alone, actually I do have one. And I use it, WHEN i have a logi. But the fact remains that even if I do have a logi I'm not garunteed to have him on me the whole fire fight, especially if he has to shoot back if he's taking damage. As well as any good player knows to shoot the logi first. Like I've been saying this whole time there is more than one way to play any class, why do you think you see scouts with shotguns instead of sniper rifles?
