Really, the plasma cannon and swarm launcher are not versatile enough to justify using up a primary weapon slot.
The fitting requirements need to be adjusted so that sacrifices have to be made by using PG/CPU extenders and perhaps using weaker health/light weapon/sidearm/grenade.

I primarily play Skirmish and Domination (I don't want to even know what ambush would be like with 20 tanks roaming around). I think tanks have the potential to add more excitement (dat "oh ****!" factor ), however if tanks are going to be this accessible AND powerful then there needs to be extremely accessable AV.
The current mechanic where the slayers are supposed to protect AV guys is not a fun mechanic. It's not fun because it's forced teamwork (this is also the reason why I don't play as a heavy, except for lols). The problem with forced teamwork is that the developers cannot guarantee that the teammate(s) will deliver and carry out what he is "supposed" to do. It's definitely okay to reward teamwork, and to give advantages when teamwork is used, however, if it's forced in a game where there are so many variables such as fitting options and player skill level, then chances are, one of the two parties will fall short (or fail to show up at all) and the "forced teamwork" mechanic crumbles.

How does it sound like COD?
If anything, it's more akin towards Battlefield mechanics. The whole reason for this is because seeing all these vehicles on the map is something you cannot get anywhere else (definitely not in COD) and I want it to stay that way. I just want infantry to be able to accessibly have anti-vehicle weapons without having to completely throw away 95% of their infantry killing power.
Tanks are already accessible AND powerful. AV should at least be VERY accessible. If you want an AV weapon as a primary, you should have the option to skill into heavy suits and weapons (I know, I know, CCP needs to release more HEAVY weaponry ). |

Easy.
Just reduce Plasma cannon splash radius and/or make it have inaccurate hipfire. Anyone who brings a PC to a gunfight will fall to their knees to suck on your AR of choice.

The point is, I know that the weapon mechanics themselves will need adjusting. The biggest problem that I can think of, is making so that LOGIs don't stack 10 swarm launchers or PCs into their equipment slots in order to cut down on reload times. Obviously fitting requirements will play a role in balancing that out, but there could be other things as well like damage, ROF, or even a hard limit of one PC and one SL (good luck trying fit those with decent shields and weapons).

I give you - THE COMMANDO SUIT
The commando suit has 2 light slots, that means you can carry 2 primary weapons and it also has an equipment slot too for nanohives etc
Other than that this reads as 'im assault i want to tryhard everything into the ground and do everything better than all specalist classes because im special derp'
The commando suit will not be spoken of in this thread as it is an abomination created by Satan himself. It's pathetic speed, large hitbox, and the fact that it's buried in the HEAVY skill tree make it a very subpar choice to balancing out all the tank spam. Do you see everyone rushing towards Commando suits now after everyone started buying tanks? No? Then STFU. Your argument is invalid.
If someone wanted to create and assault suit that had a proto light weapon AND a proto AV weapon, he wouldn't have **** for health. Any FRONTLINE militia starter fit could drop him in a second from 80 meters away with 30% accuracy. |
