Tanks are so easy to kill into now, and with militia tanks being as strong as they are there is NO REASON that guys form the opposing teams can't bring in one or two militia tanks to pop a standard.
"But we don't want to have to buy tanks! We will have to sacrifice two player for the the tanks and we will have two less guys on our team!"
Guess what, that is exactly what a dedicated swarm launcher or forge gunner does. He takes the spot of the player who could be helped fighting on foot to deal with the vehicles.
"But you just said that AV guys deal with tanks, which they don't, and right now dedicated AVers can't do ANYTHING!"
Right but that is just swarm launchers, like their real world counterpart, they don't destroy tanks in one hit. And I'm not talking about javelins i'm talking about an RPG. Why? Because swarm launchers are like lock on RPGs, but instead of one warhead they have four. Why do I say this? Because unlike the javlin, that head for the top of the vehicle, the swarms basically lock on and head straight for the vehicle.
"But,but I spent lots of SP on my swarms! I want to one shot a tank! Also you are comparing Dust to REAL WORLD scenarios."
Well tankers spent a lot of sp on their tanks too, so the amount of sp spent can be used to balance. and yes I understand this is a video game and real world scenarios also can't be used to balance. But just because Dust is set in the future and a video doesn't mean we can't compare it yo real life now does it? If I had a way to fix this whole AV V Tank OP/UP battle it would be to add a new light weapon. A weapon similar to a javelin that requires you to spec into your swarms first then it. This new weapon will have the same firing systems as the javelin and will try to attempt to attack the armors weak spot. Disadvantages of the weapon is you need to have some range to it otherwise your rocket will not have enough time to properly align itself with the vehicles weak spot. Maybe CCP could add a rocket that instead of a fir and forget method it is guided by the player. Advantages would be higher damage but you will have to stand still and follow the vehicle with your crosshair. /end rant
TL;DR Stop being lazy and read it, it is to important to summarize.
