I've only done 5-6 Strikes, haven't lost a ship too!
I'm still skilling into the Amarrian stuff, right now I'm using a crappy Thrasher.

Its pretty good, but I'm using it with Hybrid weapons just because the EMP Strike sucks.

Well, you'll get there. There's a lot of skill training in EVE, but eventually you get to the point where you just chuck random stuff in your queue because you don't care much. I've lost 2 ships. One because I jumped into a gatecamp (damn recons - three Lachesises and two Rapiers is just excessive...) and one because I was multiboxing with Dust.
I almost lost one today, got jumped by two Amarrians, I tanked as much damage as I could to get an OB off before I left, and luckily escaped with half armour, neither of them tried to disrupt my warp though.
After that they chased me through a few systems until I got back into High-Sec.

Yeah, anytime I try do PVP, I'm always against people with T2 turrets and ships.
