Being able to see people before they see you is extremely important. Choose a weapon that suits your play style. Shotgun is great with minimal investment and only gets better with SP. It can eliminate most suits with 2 shots and 3-4 for heavy/Logi tanks. However, you may need to use a enhanced or complex dmg mod if you plan to engage enemies on a regular basis. Simply because of the shotguns -10 against armour and the recent buff to plates. I'd also suggest running double smgs or a combat rifle. Also, REs. Although back then scouts were a lot more viable although I do still run shotty scout sometimes.
