THE GOOD
New rifles. I knew I would love the combat rifle right from the first burst, so I proto'd them out after my first game. Aim assist appears toned down some so I tried the ds3 again and I love it now. For the first time in a long time combat feels more tactical. Unfortunately there is one issue, see below.Thanks CCP. (KBM controls are still crap)
THE BAD
Rifles are soo good noone uses anything else. Dont see smgs mass drivers or LOL plasma cannon, and if you do they die pretty quick. MD is much more situational now, good for clearing a position but thats about it.
The new moods and background stuff are cool, they just need to be better definition. the volcano looks like a neon orange blob. :/
THE UGLY
AV/Vehicle balance. Its just not right. I've been running my proto swarms and trying out militia tanks. Even with multiple proto swarms on the field dropships easily get away, as do tanks and lavs. Swarms simply do not work. The lock range is far too short to be effective and CPM members have expressed the same to me. Currently swarm launcher sp is wasted. On the other hand, forge is still really good. As a tank I've been able to dodge all but the best forge gunners. Activate hardeners and gtfo usually works unless Im in a confined area. Unfortunately though, the only real way to kill a tank currently is with another tank and this is how most of my tank deaths have occured. Swarms, even without hardeners on, dont do that much damage. I suggest giving them a little bit more damage and range.

Good breakdown and I understand your perspective on these points.
Some points from my perspective: Rifles: much needed adds. With all four rifles on the field you now see a bit of what racial parity looks like and how it effects playstyles.
Lack of other weapons on the field: I think you are right but that doesn't mean those weapon roles are obsolete. I think the MD is primed for a resurgence and the PC can be a viable AV weapon.
As for the vehicles: I think the HAV cost needs to go up a bit. I really like the "waves of opportunity" concept but tanks are exploiting this with some bugs and the huge nerf to AV. If the bugs are fixed and cost of tanks go up I can live with this. Would be nice if they awarded SP based on vehicle damage though. Dropships...different story; I think they desperately need to introduce a anti-aircraft Swarm variant that has extended lock on and missile speed but no uplift in damage and not allow it to lock onto ground targets (turrets, LAV, HAV).

Swarms are fine people, just cant brainlessly kill tanks with them anymore. Snap some RE's on that pig drop an AV nade, swarm launch, swarm launch, tank runs, RE detonation, add all this with the brains NOT to hit them while glowing with invulnerbility, you have one tank puddle and ready for another.
Unchecked dishonesty can promote the perception that one must cheat to remain competitive.

I tried playing with my SMG like I had pre 1.7. I died. A lot. Its range couldn't stand up to the new rifles. I used to rely on omniscient installations for scanning since I am a minja and can't scan for shyte, so now I have no way to get in close to use the smg or nova knife before my paper armor is riddled with bullets.
So I had to give in and go CR
Nova knifing scout masochist. I would be a sadist, but CCP won't let me.

MD really situational now, you can still do a good job with the boundless or ec-3, but slaying with an exo or freedom is kinda meh, it's a spam area weapon only atm
