Give us back the hit marker.
If you are going to take it away make sure we have near perfect hit detection first. Sometimes I can't tell if I actually hit someone or I just got blue shields. That little red x is very important to us since we have to compensate for latency and such.

You know we come last , on any of CCP's lists . What I can't understand is , how did rendering take steps backwards from the already BAD situation that is was already in , I mean I have a scope that is suppose to magnify things and I still can't see what I'm shooting at half the time and is probably the reason so many people are using Thale's because that's the only way they can ACTUALLY see .
I've noticed what you are talking about and it is making sniping harder along with the rendering .

Yah, this is worse since 1.7 hit.
I figured it was more people using proto suits but I'm starting to wonder if that is the case.
I figured it might be lag because I've noticed some pretty odd jumps (either forward or backward) or hesitations when reds run across my sights. Unfortunately this persists every day at all times of day against euro teams and North American teams. Sometimes it is worse and sometimes it is better but it always seems to be there. So if it lag, it is perma-lag.
Maybe there is such a big surge of players due to the new patch that it has increased lag?
Maybe there is too much nanohive and uplink spamming?
I used to be able to hit at least half of my shots on running targets but the ratio is much less now.
Sometimes I'm aiming right at stationary reds and letting the shot go and I get absolutely zero damage.
Now it seems that I have to fire up to 10 shots before I get a kill, which was my ratio when I left the academy.
In 1.6 this was never that bad.
I hope this issue gets resolved.

Thats half the fun of sniping, all the QQ from both teams. I don't miss the marker all that much. Working with the red dot & hit percentage still works just fine for adding ventilation to redberry helmets. |

That would probably work in all if I could actually see what I was shooting at . It's like all the codes for weapons that require range has been changed , the sniper rifle , swarm launcher and the forge guns are the ones that I have noticed .
Using that red dot is counterproductive and now I'm starting to see why some would like the forge gun to have a scope because waiting for the crosshairs to turn red means nothing if you can't see what it is that you are shooting . It's just stupid to have weapons that rely on and their staple being their range as an advantage and you can't see what it is that your trying to shoot .
I have to try to see the health bars of a character to be able to tell if I have connected with the shot or not and I can barely see that from all of the rendering issues and the constant jumping in and out depending where they are and what backdrop they are up against . I could be shooting someone who has been killed already just depending on the red dot because it's still red after the character dies , so that tells me nothing .

Rendering has definitely worsened.
Please put the marker back.

I have this exact same problem and also thought it was lag until I saw this post. please ccp show the sniper class some love. |
